Hello!

Greetings from Finland! This cold chills me to the bone!!! I have some questions, and I would be grateful to get answers:

1. Which is the average age when joining the Legion? I am now 28 years old.
I think I would be much over the average if I would get in.

2. It is too early to speculate before passed the tests, but I am interested in
3REI (not for warmer climate :)). How difficult it is to get 3.REI, is it popular destination nowadays?

3. I am serving as a second lieutenant in Finnish conscription army. I regularly go trough refresher course and training. My specialities are arctic circumstances. Have Legion any needs for those skills? I doubt not in 3REI :)

4. Somebody who has served in 2REP, do you know/ remember Finnish guy
named Peters (military police, served 28 years in Legion, mostly in Calvi,
retired since 2000

THANKS

<<22-25 seems to be the average. You will be a wee bit on the old side, but also remember that many serve for more than one contract. I'll bet there are quite a few 28 year olds.

<<the REI and the REP are considered the "special forces" of the LE. Getting into the 3REI will require you to do very well during basic. Also, it will require you to pick up french to a fair standard. Having said all that, though, I imagine LIVING in the 3REI is *way* tougher than getting in. Sounds like hell to me, personally

<<It seems the LE prefers NCO's rather than officers. They need grunts who obey, not leaders. On the other hand, tho, previous military experience is never a bad thing. Just tell them you will be ready to follow, not give, orders. Your military training will come in handy during basic.
I have yet to serve, but I'm just trying to help you out. A second opinion is always a good idea.

dietrying is correct, 28 years old is a little old, but I think it's OK for you.

The quota of 3REI is very few, not every section has this quota. So it seems a kind of lucky..
