That's waaaaay too much information.
What is the question?
Best to keep it relatively short and to the point for an introduction.
I don't think you will do well in the Legion though.

Pete, I understand your concerns about the mental side of things. When you go you may want to condense your story a little i.e. saying that you practice martial arts and mentionning two maximum. Perhaps leaving out the vigilante part, but highlight your helping out charity work.

I'd suggest that you waited until they ask you if you if you have been in the hospital for mental health reasons, rather than coming straight out with it.

Wow. There is no question in this biography? 36? Afraid that you would be in for a week or so in Aubagne and shown the door. Sorry that's opinion based upon experience. But good luck, you will need it

Short story, then:

Pracised martial art nearly entire life (full time). Civilian contractor.
Some injury sustained.
Got into big fist fight. Scared ex. She called police to put psych. hospital while she stole everything. Released without question.

Interogative:

Medical - psych. is on notes - will count against, despite "no issue"?

-------

Additional:

Dislike projected attitude of "being shown door" due to age. In decent form. Training double.

Intention to redact "bio" when read by certain persons - received feedback - do not wish to have life story on internet.

Question was in there - perhaps too many words to read for you.

Because of age, Mick?

Why then allow up to 39.5 years?

Saccade, the legion isn't trying to put together a group of Ninjas for a special mission or something like that. If you are asked, and I'm sure you will be , then just be brief about it. Listen Pete, your first impression ( second and all those in between until your last) will count.

No-one is telling you to lie, and no-one is telling you to be evasive with your answers, but until asked directly if you have had any psychiatric analysist why mention it? Should the question come up, answer as though it was no big deal; just the ex-girlfriend trying to be nasty along with taking all your money.

It's my opinion, maybe they will allow him but he better be able to keep up with the young gazelles or even do better.

Not too many words for me at all. Just too many words and unecessary life story. The fact is, if you offer up this shit to the gestapo I guarantee you will be shown the door. I'd bet my Maserati on it

That's what I was after - was under impression that medical records would be requested - much conflicting info here and official. Thanks, Joe. Trap shut unless necessary. Got it.

Fact is - only position available outside UK reserves soldier offered to me is as regular officer in specialist role.
Would prefer ground up batallion than enter through Sandhurst.
It's in a few weeks.

-------

Opinions are like arseholes - everyone's got one - everyone's stinks.
Checked the plates on that 2000 X-reg - Wouldn't bet what you don't have (I am told I disclose too much, when license plate pinpoints owner and address..?).

Thanks for the advice, both.

Saccade,

Never put so much about your personal problems or medical details on any website.
Now when you present yourself and if you do, keep all private details to the minimum.
Be truthful, but the less you say which may or may not be relevant, the less you can be queried about.
Finally indicate a 'want factor'. Don't beg but indicate that you have a genuine desire to enlist.
I believe that you are too old for the RMA Sandhurst even as an SD entrant.
Good luck- Carpe Diem.
