Hélie de Saint-Marc served with 2e BEP in Indochina where he commanded one of the CIPLE (Compagnie Indochinoise Parachutiste de la Légion Étrangère), made of Vietnamese volunteers.
He transferred to 1er REP in Algeria and was acting CO during the April 1961 putsch.

this is what you’ll first see of the camp if you make to Calvi. All the best...go for it.

I hadn't really noticed before that they have put in the electric barriers. Do you remember that it used to be a chain?

Joe, there was always the automatic gate. But it was seldom used, only at night, and when there was a military big knob from Paris inspecting the guarde 24 outside the Salle d’honneur

Some Barrett and MacMillan 12.7 (50: calibre) rifles. From memory, the only companies to have them back then were 1st company, 4th company and CEA so the CRAP/GCP could train with them. I remember going next door to the 4th company armoury with one of our Sgt’s to sign one out to take to the range for the day. Not too difficult to clean at the end of the day.

Joe, just heard some sad news. Sabljic died last night from a heart attack. I still remember meeting him for the first time in the 3rd company club. R.I.P mon Colonel.

So... Again I have to bid Adieu to an old comrade. I knew Sabljic as a caporal and later as a sergent. We served in different companies him with the 3e cie. And I with the 1re cie. I thought then he would do well. He had that personality, charisma if you wish... A soldier par excellence!! He proved that with his exploits and climbing through the ranks.. the Valkyries took you swiftly to the great hall Sabljic, so I shall lift a glass 🍻... Farewell comrade.

Can no longer be considered actuality, as I told Hoping, the Legion lost the company tour in Djibouti. The CECAP (which I spent a year in) - you see it in the beginning of the doc,-, I believe was taken over by the Commando Marines. But worth watching to give all of you future REPmen, an insight of what is to come. Enjoy:
