Beau Sheep,
Scan your carnet de services and passport and send it to the Boss or Joe for definitive verification. Boss will sort out this "unnecessary war" or is it a "war of choice"...hmmm ?
This is a highly personal document and unlike to have fallen into enemy hands unlike some blank certificates on sale in the open market.

I supported Beau. However I thought Jock had a good idea. I also know that Beau served with a superb Brit regiment prior to FFL. Enough said and after all as you say the matter was private until it was brought into the public arena.

This kind of issue is best left to the anciens, moderators and boss. Everyone else should VEER OFF and 'wait out'.

This is a very serious accusation bringing into question individual integrity and credibility. It needs prompt sorting by the moderators and boss.

I sent the coloured FFL honourable discharge ID as a basic precaution at the beginning of my participation on this board. Perhaps this needs to be adopted after this incident.

hello Beau ,
I joined in 83 but was initially sent to Kourou (still wake up in a cold sweat...). I was at Raffalli in 3 Cie from late 85. Used to knock about with mick doyle (an Aussie from broken hill) scouse knight , jean jean etc. Our paths must have crossed. I used to be in British forces (like a few others !!) do you remeber me (small fairly quiet non descript ..)

Did you serve the whole 5 years in the REP ?

This debate has come to a lull.
Beau Sheep, you and I and the moderator are on-line at the same time.
You mentioned Surinam and merc work.
POP QUIZZ TIME:
Where is Simon Richards now ? He was your contemporary in the REP.
What rank did he have in the British Army ?

Who was Stephen Tunstall ? What was his achievement in the REP ? He was also your contemporary in the REP.

Please answer on this forum for all to see. Don't PM me.

Don't **** me around dude
Richards I do not know 2eme Cie?
And if I ain't mistaken the only Tunstall I knew was a runner, if I remember correctly he was never with the regiment because he was always at some race or another.
And you know what, I ain't even sure I am right, the name rings a bell and I know the REP fielded a brilliant runner, it was Tunstall right?
As for Richards I have never heard the name

1746..

The rest remains with me, now should I **** off for being an imposter dude? Fucking forum is getting on my tits.

THIS is FOR EVERYONE. Beau was in the REP. Steve Tunstal was the French Army national cross-country champion in 1984 or 1985. He then became UK cross country-champion in 1987 0r 1988.

Simon Richards was connected to Surinam merc work and was most likely connected to the crew you mentioned. I'll leave it there.

Can you scan you former legionnaire ID foldable card with the photo on the inside and send to voltigeur to put this issue to rest ? Otherwise, the credibility of the board can be brought into question regarding Anciens. Thxs.

Thanks eagle. I did not feel I needed to prove shit. I never met Stevie but his best mate Jimmy Rey was my section cpl when I joined. Stevie was the regiments pride but we never saw him, he was treated to the VIP treatment and he deserved it, we were proud that a brit held the position he did, but outta sight outta mind as the saying goes. Ionly knew the guys who went out to the Surinam and the offer I recieved was from an ex para working out of london. Pemberton and Pederson were both REP cpls, both excellent soldiers and all I know is they caused hell in the Surinam.

I do not and will not belong to any assosiations. I have my reasons, I also knew the English guy the REP framed for an incident in RCA, I am proud of my time with the REP, I will never forgive them for the way this incident was handled, he was a soldier who followed an order.

Those who were there know the incident I am on about and its consequences for Brits after.

So can I stay or should I go, because if I stay I will not be one of those who worship the Legion.

PS, for those who know nothing of this incident to not pm me for details, my lips are sealed and I doubt you will get anyone else to spill the beans so forget it and do not ask please. its a long time ago and I do not wanna dig it up again. Let it stay buried where it belongs.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have no say but it's a delicate matter when s.o does this to you or other. Those that can help will cooperate and band around. Allen is a FERKING *******.

I had a similar but internal discipline event that left a mate in Beirut blinded with brain damage. I haven't forgotten him and the Legion. You can draw your own conclusions. It's called brotherhood.

NO MORE DOUBT(S) ABOUT BEAU SHEEP. PERIOD.
NEXT!!!

Let's not make a too big fuss about this. It's not because one guy privately questioned BeauSheep's belonging to the Legion that this opinion was widely considered true in the forum.
I personnaly never had any real doubt. He's given in his various posts enough details that only someone who served in the French army can know (sorry BeauSheep, I know your aversion to the Frogs, but the Legion is a component of the French army
).

End of the story.
