Highlander, even they don't know. Their life is limited to a forum, it is all they can seem to fathom. I don't care who I piss off. Zero f*cks.
When I offer help, they leave to their country, or find some excuse why they can't come and join. Just a bunch of pussies, spineless, as Chas said, and well said, too!. Each time I read an excuse, I won't even call them by their handle name, always going to being with Pussy. Like Pussy D boss, pussy rickster and pussy the rest of the lot of pussies here.
If the British Army declines my medical appeal then I'm off to France. Not got a choice, to be honest.
My Granddad, and I say this with the greatest respect towards him, is on the way out and without his money me and my dad are homeless. Well not my dad since he's found a partner that can look after him, but I can tell there's no room for me. So if the British Army doesn't take me then I'm off to the Legion because I either need to send my dad money or I need a new home. It's weird, deep down I kind of want the British Army to decline me but that's probably naiveté (or stupidity).

Volt, he is not obese at all. Talked to him and seen plenty of pics, Be aware,BMI never regulates Solid muscle, Ever. As for him getting in, its anyones guess, just like it is a roll of the dice for everyone.
It is definitely a roll of the dice.
They might or may not go by muscle mass when checking his BMI.
Even if it is all muscle, that is not necessarily an advantage and "they" might see it as such.
Nevetheless, with the Legion one will never know for sure unless one tries.

Cernunnos, can you give us a reminder about your medical appeal? I could check the posts but it would be quicker if you could just put a summary. Thanks in advance.

If a green is harsh and rude, people complain. If a green is trying to be helpful and friendly, people complain. What do you guys want?

Hi Highlander, isn't your boyfriend in the 13 ? Has he heard anything about the upcoming OPEX Mali?

Volt, agreed on all accounts. Joe c, yea, not sure what company is going. Think it's 2nd. Everyone leaves between Jan and Feb 6. I leave Feb 6. Heard 13, goes Jan 6. I can ask again.

666, old buddy, this is a real morale booster for the Legion. Ggetting an OPEX is what joining is all about. You can then say that all the crap that you've been through to get that far is worth it. And who knows, on the 14th you may be swaggering down the Champs-Élysées: Vigi medal, Défense Nationale medal, OPEX Mali medal.

Jan-feb, careful guys, big difference in heat temperature, but in spite of what some people may think, you'll be in good hands.

JOE C,

Absolutely, I have had many stages and preparation for this Opex, It really is good for our Regiment Spirit. What I can tell you guys for certain about our Opex, our entire Compagnie is going, ALL sections, SK, too. Our compagnie goes to Ivory coast, Mali, and Libya. THAT IS POSITIVE. First compagnie has ONE for sure, not sure if two, But ONE section for sure going to Mali, CCL has SPECIALIST going to IRAQ, Yes, You read this correctly, IRAQ.

Theres going to be a lot of action this 2018 for the Legion, Combat action, Humanitarian action, Training, the works. It seems and I have confirmed this with a friend who is a Sgt (yes, I have Sgt friends, too) who is in 2REI. It seems the 1REG and 13th and 2REI are going to be very busy this 2018. He said that the 2REI will be doing stuff hard later in 2018 with 13 and that my reg, 1 REG will be along the whole time. 2REG took the first load already in Mali and I think goes one more time. All other regiments essentially will be not doing much, unless the world goes apeshit.

Of course.

At 16 I signed up for the British Army, intending on going to Harrogate Foundation College but I didn't prepare well enough (my own fault) and so I was declined.
Fast-forward to June this year I signed up again for the British Army.
I was doing great, I went to a Personal Assessment Day (or something like that) to test my running because I didn't know my time.
I was in front of everyone, including the instructor, until I went the wrong way (my fault for not listening) and lagged behind.
I managed to catch up but couldn't overtake the instructor and the two others that were ahead of my now.
I got 11:14, I think.

Anyway, a couple of days before I was supposed to receive my tickets to Scotland for selection I got a call saying something was wrong with my application and that I wasn't going up to Scotland.
Fair enough, I thought at the time, it shouldn't be anything too bad.
Then I got the letter in the post saying I was medically differed under RESPIRATORY PRE-ENTRY ANNEX D which states;
5. Candidates with a recorded history of asthma, with the following features, would be normally graded P8 (unfit).
a. Those who have experienced symptoms or taken, or been prescribed any form of treatment within the last 4 years.

So I sent an appeal but I needed medical documents to prove I was fit.
So I sent a letter from my Doctor saying I last used an inhaler in 2011.
It got turned down.

So I sent a second appeal, at the behest of my Father.
This time I took a Spirometry and sent the results.
They accepted this and now I must wait 6 weeks, from the 03/11/17, to hear back.

All this hassle because I had multiple chest infections in secondary school.

Is it in general hard to get into the British army nowadays?

Don't worry, If you get rejected, that fine, you gave it a shot. If you go to the Legion, Do not say anything about asthma. Just run your heart out and don't die. Unless you tell them, it won't be found. Trust me, there are plenty of guys with asthma and heart conditions in the Legion..
Again, the legion only knows what you would like to volunteer them. Not one thing about crimes or anything can be found. Medical included.

You'll be feared into anything you say or do. No, your gov is not going to get a call from the ‘gestapo’ man. No gov will ever collude and give up personal information on there citizens. So relax and tell them what you want, What IS and IF found out after you make commission will be handled then. just to the tune of , you little shit, we found out something and we know its true and we spent loads of money finding it out. How come you didn't say you were married. How come you have a kid. How come this or that...And you say, TEE HEE. I don't know what you are talking about. They say, Sign here again, what is that I am signing sir ‘gestapo’ man? It's the five year contract again **** face. You are going to Castel next week. BYE!.

When I was 16 they told me “The British Army, nowadays, doesn't want you. We don't need you, you need us. So come back in two years when you've prepared better.â€￾ So I did.

Don't worry, it wasn't asthma. I just had really bad chest infections and they gave me the inhaler when one of the infections stopped me from breathing properly.
I'm also not scared of the ‘Gestapo’, I've got nothing to hide. Anything I've done or said, I'm happy to tell anyone. I pride myself on my honesty. I'd already be in France by now if my father hadn't asked me to re-appeal.

Don't worry, Lying or not, you'll be in the Legion. Where we all lie, part of lie and being in the Legion. Of course, you must be in the Legion to know what lies to tell... Only WE KNOW, who've been in and or are serving...

Hi Anzacman, I hope that your health is better now. Did you finish your 5 years?

Who me? I want Brazilian girlfriend :) . There's one girl named Andressa. Brazil is a small place. Maybe you know her and you can somehow connect me with her.

Here is video of her https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LCjZehpdWM :)
Well... Two pieces of advice:

1/ Brazilian girlfriend, means the first thing to do is to have a ‘reality check’, if you want to avoid surprises... :D

2/ What this lady does is nothing and I mean n o t h i n g compared to what I've seen in Africa. So, if you're fond of big asses that seem to be mounted on roll bearings, Africa is the place to be: Côte d'Ivoire, Sénégal, Cameroon, Congo (Brazza and/or Kin), Angola, to name a few.
