Polish president and top officials died in plane crash

There were 15 Members of Parliament on that plane, including three Deputy Speakers, five most important generals in the country, head of central bank, Polish president etc.

Yes, this is a big tragedy for us. I still can not believe it, even in those few hours after the disaster. On board were many people which I highly respected.

The equivalent of this for the United States would be the loss of our State Department, Treasury Department, a third of the Pentagon, the leadership of Congress, and the White House. I hope the best for the people of Poland, and that you take care in your coming elections.

Politics not my problem

first things to get on my mind following these:
- high staff should not travel toegether,
- president plane crashes are rarely accidents,
- don't go abroad to promote politics that are not welcome.

It is a bit of irony that the they were travelling to commemorate the Katyn killing in 1940, where nearly 22,000 polish officers were murdered by NKVD. Katyn is taking its toll.

Politics not my problem

This is not just politics. The delegation included relatives of the officers murdered in the Katyn, some most important generals in the country as Gregor said . Among the dead were the army chief of staff, the navy chief commander, and heads of the air and land forces,commander of special forces, commander Warsaw garrison, who were all making trip to honor the Polish officers slain by the NKVD in 1940.
Also among the victims was Anna Walentynowicz, woman whose stand against communism provoked the Gdansk strike.
Many valuable people.
