You might want to put all your eggs in the FFL basket and forget about SF. Even if you could make it through the 18 months or so specialized training, I'm almost certain they're not giving security clearances to Lebanese students, especially ones that have Anti-American sentiments. Go to the FFL it's a much more attainable goal for you. These guys are down to earth for the most part and will give you solid advice.

    Re: Hello from the USA

I am not anti american, I am just pro france, lol. Honestly I do not hate america I just feal my attitude, mind, and basic interests are more french. I was born in America my friend, as where my parents my heritage is Lebanese. BTW Security clearance would be no problem, I get offers day and night at the university of Michigan to go into the USA intelligence field because I am tri lingual. (Arabic, French, English). I am just wondering how life is after the legion, would it be hard for a 25-26 year old to get a advance degree in a french university after the legion? (i would have my bachelors before i join the legion) I was just wondering how the education system in France is after the legion? Does France have veterans benefits?

    Merci

Its more like 3 weeks in SFAS and 52 to 96 weeks of training at Q-course, depending on MOS and which Language course you go through.

    Re: Hello from the USA

You say Anti-American and pro-French like they're easily confused. Without France's help there would be no USA, and people here don't dislike France. If you want to take the advice of a swedish guy in a costume though go for it. You can train for 18 weeks in one of your options or 18 months in the other. One of them will enlist you and the other will not. You'll figure it out I'm sure, and if not the scandinavian costume guy and the british guy will give you great advice on American government.

Life after the French Foreign Legion will be exactly as you make it yourself.
There are an unlimited numbers of careers and opportunities available.

Anyway it all depends on our social level and qualifications, and depending where you are situated there should be no problem whatsoever in finding a bright future for yourself.

    Re: Hello from the USA

Are you an American citizen? You say you are Lebanese, yet you were born here in the USA? If you are indeed an American citizen and are not proud to be one, I doubt that you will be very welcome to any Special Forces Group. Also keep in mind that in SF ODA's (The tip of the spear.) the NCO's really run the team.)

Are you aware that Officers under the rank of Captain are not taken into Special Forces groups? Warrant Officers are used as XO's on ODAs, however, that is a special circumstance as well. Some lower rank officers may serve in support units attached to SF; however, not in ODAs.

If indeed you are a Lebanese, you will have a hard time getting the level of security clearance to enter any Special Forces unit at any level.

Given your attitude about America, etc. perhaps it would be just dandy if you did become a French citizen! We wouldn't miss you!

Yes I am an american born and raised, but my grandparents, came from lebanon. Insults are show of inner weakness and insecurities. I have nothing against America, I just dispize our political system right now.
