    Opinions on The Hurt Locker

google translation from a romanian site, any thoughts from those who know how it really is and saw the movie

A new military partnership, the Romanian-American: our engineers and those from overseas were agreed: The Hurt Locker, a film of childlike technically

"What is adrenaline?" Well get him and send him to recover, the psychiatrist, these traumatic not fatten cough so hard that I do not believe that every act on the order of adrenaline, the kindle Alex, engineer of the Romanian Gendarmerie , following hard scenes from The Hurt Locker, a "counterpart" American playing madly with bombs strewn streets of Baghdad. There are few hours of the production won six Oscar statuettes, including the distinction of Best Film, and Romanian engineers are "on duty" in the boardroom of Baneasa, watching on a laptop, with pen in hand, sequencing of events .

The artistic impression, the film's hats off. Construction epic is "exciting, dramatic, eventually a good movie, but parallel to reality, if you analyze a bit the use of military technology and procedures, our hosts told us.

    Advertising
For a soldier, a film about the military is not a fun but serious work. "Let's be serious, who is something of a mission's head, wherever and whatever it", says Marius watching the movie. "Yes, and one group behind, which they put at risk", it added Alex, who left him as out for action. "Sheep have you fighting U.S. in Iraq, but follow the procedures, what the hell ..." still involved.

Yesterday I reviewed The Hurt Locker, with a "team of specialists from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie, which deals with issues of military equipment and arms, on a laptop in the boardroom of the headquarters of Baneasa. Our hosts - four specialists in defusing bombs, which we will give only name, "security reasons", as we have asked - was shown very passionate about the story, which restrain it as well, but serious objections about the "realism" of scenes, remarks that they have noted in the agenda, while watching, and that we have communicated to the end. Have not detained but small irony when the hard scenes, which take the laity in cinemas spectaorii blown.

We all agreed that "technical reality" squeaky slowly, though, the artistic impression, the film's hats off: film awarded six Oscars is "exciting, dramatic, eventually a good movie, but parallel to reality, if stand to look a little use of military technology and procedures.

"I understand that movie, but ..."

"I understand that it is a film and what we see is an option directed, but if you ask me what I see there, well, I see a lot of mistakes and made impermissible risk in a group of soldiers, where the order is Make one-time with the palm, sometimes not. And for me, art is no longer the same blood, on the contrary, Stephen open series of observations.

"Well, who, ever, put their equipment and get out of his head to defuse a load when they are told that the unit has everything she needs, including a robot, to do their job, that was that Mr. Invented "Marius is the initial idea. "Well, but though we motto of the film, which tells us that too much adrenaline addictive ...", shown Tudor conciliatory. "Well then get it and send it to recover, the psychiatrist, these traumatic not fatten cough so hard that I do not believe that every act on the order of adrenaline, resists Alex. "It is allowed, or as having fewer engineers, replica Tudor. "Few, but expensive. Does not allow you to lose one every event that he wants to be an artist", concludes Marius. Romanian Gendarmerie engineers will not leave of them. Amends each "poetic license" a film that wants to open the window to the womb of Baghdad.

    What they liked
    • "Well, what to look for a lot of Middle Ages, linked by a robot art?".
    • "How to go to drag his feet in the trunk of a car loaded with explosives?".
    • "What's that over his shoulder to throw a detonator defused in the street? And bombs who let them?".
    • "To try to pull a kamikaze vest full of explosives, cutting and locks with pliers, a human being, a character show, demonstrating the reliability of a Iraqi locks, but, frankly speaking, no one's war team in danger. And this is not an option, is a procedure.
    • "How to go on mission and not to use jamming equipment enabling a terrorist to blow up, mobile phone, after you pray it does not use it?"

    Symbol drawn a scene hair

The scene hair pulled? Romanian military specialists have fallen, we all agree that "spider net" bombs placed in the middle of a street almost uncirculated, is a kind of Aces. "Well you look as explosive as a street? And, after all, what to look for engineer there, and to hold the wires in the way that?" asks Alex.

"It seems to me that this scene would be a symbol. American symbol bound by all the bombs, all sides ...", believes Marius. "Or maybe they did not have an adviser, to tell them what to eat ..." Stephen comes. "And if he wanted to show us what can their equipment and technique, involves Tudor. 'I-doubt, while irakinenii already know this equipment, "says Alex.

Neither did American engineers were more gentle

Romanian specialists were not any more reason, not more grumpy than the Americans. Three of the engineers of U.S. military units have been invited to the premiere of the film, which took place on June 24 in Washington.
"It is clear that this is Hollywood," said Mike Wells, a specialist who has worked in a team of engineers traveled to Iraq. "As a spectator, I found an interesting movie, but as a soldier I was disappointed with inaccurate facts and created portraits of soldiers," he said, in turn, Bishop Gregory, PR's army.

"What bothers me the movie is that people will think it will aim to reflect reality, because it seems real. The soldiers are properly equipped, look like soldiers and Iraqis, usually are not informed", says Bishop . U.S. Army, who refused to "employers" movie (widespread case of war films made in Hollywood), held that the film "The Hurt Locker" do not accurately reports the soldiers, which caused it not to provide support.

I watched it when it first came out so my memory is a little sketchy, but I did like it, especially considering the budget it was a brilliant film. Im glad Avatar didnt win the best film to be honest, to me it had no real depth or an interesting story line, it seemed to go on for far too long with unnecessary scenes.

I saw the movie , not that bad as I thought , quiet good , I like the last 5 min when Jeremy Renner came back from Iraq & was doing some civilian thing & talking to his son , it was really well portrayed , I remember after i came back from Africa , i was out of my mind , they send me into a long vacation , & I used to sit in a coffee shop all day , watching cars & different people passing by & I used to wonder about something I cant remember . but at least for one time I thought about having a family .

Re: opinions on The hurt locker

lol exactly, avatars story stinks its a rip off of so many other ones.
I personally thought Hurt Locker was pretty good, maybe no oscar material but a lot better than avatar. All avatar is is visual effects and sound effects, they got those oscars and thats it.
I my opinion Inglorious Basterds was the best this year, but it didnt have a good enough political statement to win and it lacked seriousness, hence Hurt Locker won.

An uncontroversial anti war movie always tends to do pretty well in the Oscars.

The hurt locker makes me wanna join 1REG to be an EOD... not. The only reason I would want to be an EOD is because the mine removal company, whose give an ample amount of salary to an ex-EOD for managing a minefield clearing, require level 3 EOD certificate, lol. That's one nice option after the retirement from La Legion.

So after successfully beating the odds for 5-20 years with La Legion you'd want to continue to play the odds in the private sector? Non merci...

Non non in private company you'll become the manager. They always hire local labors to do the ground stabbing and sign planting, as the company employees are too valuable to be blown up by a somewhat decades-old mines. I've seen them work before on the old battle field in my country, under the contract of UN.

And what's ironic is that some of the mines planted here were FFL's since the Indochina war, lol.
