And, does the legion issue you a watch? I saw a watch from 2 REP on ebay.

My 2 cents : on the first one, that dragoon looking thing is the emblem of 2REP but i know the French army airborne also uses that dragoon. The second one looks like airborne wings. I've never heard the Legion issuing soldiers a watch, i could be wrong though. And yes you're better off till someone who actually been in the rep for real answers, nice pics.

The first is RPIMA (Regt. Para Infantry Marine) cap badge.

    The second is Chuter wings.

The REP never issued watches but did give quite alot out as Christmas prezzies.

Re: What are these logos of?

Serge is correct. First cap badge are for the Parachutistes d'infanterie de Marine (formerly know as Parachutistes Coloniaux). Worn in regiments like 8°RPIMa (the one that suffered 9 casualties last August in Afghanistan), 3°RPIMa, etc. When around 1956/57 (can't remember the date exactly) a decision was made to grant the red beret to all airborne units (except the Legion airborne regiments), including the "metropolitan" paras who wore a light blue beret before, the "colonial" paras designed this cap badge to differentiate themselves. The anchor is the symbol of the "Troupes de Marine").
The second one is the para wings for the qualified HAHO/HALO military sky divers (in French Brevet de Chuteur Opérationnel).

    RPIMa is French Regular Army,

Chuteur wings are worn by all HALO qualified troops, Reg and Legion.

Re: What are these logos of?

Nope there is no legion issue watch !!

In 1997 some legion officers had this for there christmas gift,
it was then sold in the Legion shop for a while:

All those ads for French foreign legion daggers, knifes etc are for tourists.

The legion gives you a nice Opinel...
