Canadian looking to join the FFL

Will I need to book a hotel room or can I just roll off the plane right into the recruiting centre in Paris and the FFL will take care of the rest while they process the paperwork?

I've been in the Canadian Forces and the French Foreign Legion sounds too good to be true. I'm on 56k so research is a slow process.

Good luck from another fellow Canadian.

From what I have heard any recruiting center you go to, will take you in, and take care of every thing you need to do.

Good luck. Canadian Forces pay more but you got your reasons.

I was only making $300 a week in the CF and I'm not allowed back into the CF for a while.

I was reg force and you make less than a full time reservist. In the reg force they take away about 50% of your pay in deductions for things like rations, quarters, income tax, pension and other little fees. But don't worry the canex will help you out by price gouging you on things like laundry detergent and razor blades.

    Hello,
Prior to my attempt at joining the French Foreign Legion in 2003, I had already 4 years into the Canadian forces, thus, this did not to seem to impress anyone very much lol.. hope you got good playing cards . 300 dollars a week? so, you haven't completed your nq3 .. as a corporal i make 1500 clear in my pockets each 15 days . And yes, you can join right after you disembark from the plane at Charles De Gaulles at Fontenay-sous-Bois (fort de Nogent).
We all got our reasons, good luck .

I don't play cards, when I feel like giving my money away I go to the strip club. As long as other guys in selection aren't throwing office chairs at me I should be ok, CFLRS was more like a mental ward.

How do they mark their kit in the FFL do they use markers or sew tags into everything?

I had a pretty rough time at St Jean, by week 9 they tried to discharge me but said they would give me a second chance seeing as I was ranked #1 in the platoon. So they waited until the day before the graduation parade to discharge me from the CF. I'm sure my legend lives on to scare the new recruits.

so u left with a 4f? meaning you will not be able to work in any federal jobs outhere?

this could b a good playing card for legion, for your second chance type thing, i had no playing card, i was just too perfect and beautiful for them

When I showed my friends my file they said it looked like a retard wrote this and it doesn't make any sense and that's the same conclusion I came too.

All i cany say, it takes alot to get discharged, only way is if the attitude of the recruit is overwhelming. You dont get thrown out, recruits usually throw themselves out by not showing interest.

I can only imagine, that you complained over the meanigless tasks as iron your shirts, spit shining your boots, inspections in the morning, the non ever ending sewing of your kit name tags.. Yes i admit, it is very dumn, but it has a role, to see if you can fit the life of a soldier without complaining too much and make a big deal out of it.

I can only imagine the legion will be worse .. though, i am not aware of your case, again, you might be exactly what the legion is looking for
