    Some very simple basic questions?

What are inspections like in the FFL? How often are your rooms inspected? How many soldiers are in a room? What are the usual punishments?

    In Castel they are hell.
    Punishments?
Locker contents emptied from fourth floor balcony. You get five minutes to collect it and put it all back.
    A long run in kit.
A night or three without sleep.
    A punch in the guts.
Another long run with even more kit.

The list would be endless. In the regiment there is much less bullshit, you get inspected but punisments are rarer.

The list is endless, the authority that a caporal has took me by suprise, when I got my ass kicked I deserved it, everytime. If you fancy eight days jail or a kick up the arse what would you rather have.

Castel: dorms of 40. Superimposed beds.
Regiment: Rooms of 8 to 10 legionnaires in my time.
Punishment: can be physical like hit across the face for a good reason or at least a couple of times by a sub-intelligent drunken corporal and 'chef de chambre' in the early morning if you're unlucky (that's concentration camp 101) or a long week of 'consignés' of general cleaning duties in the morning, midday and evening until late...Once you're a corporal you can do the same: it's called 'pecking order' or 'food chain' status...

so how much does the kit that is used in the FFL weight? including weapon, boots, etc.?

where i served, we had something called F3, wich was the basic kit, used every day, it weight 25KG, including boots, weapon and amunition (80 x 7.62) etc. - we also had something called F4, wich weight 50KG... didn't use that so often, though.

    25kgs on the F3???

I think you can cut down atleast 10 kg on the F3 kit and as for the F4 never heard of it, unless its the F3 wearing bodyarmor, and the you'd have about 25 kg of equipment

F4 is used by jegere - jegertjeneste er den eneste tjeneste - maybe that's why you haven't heard of it? are/have you been in the FFL, or are you going to join? and where did you serve in norway?

    Bonjour all,

OK, I give up. May I ask for info on what F4 is.

Please establish what F3( ie what equipment + clothing) is first and then F4.

I read 80 rounds is basic ammo load. What is squad basic for small mortars? For light machine guns?

    Merci in advance,
    BobW

The F3 is the norwegaian combat uniform, field jacket, field pants, and rifle G3(and gun(glock 17) if engineer like me) ammo, theoreticaly 80 rounds of 7.62, in practical use 180+ rounds. And you have one guy with the 84mm anti tank\personel launcher And a ruck sack with small tent, eventualy cold weather clothes, depending on season.
I can not say for the infantery squads, but with the combat engineers, youve got two guys with 40 mm's on their G3+ 4 rounds of 40 mm, depending on the guy. And you have one guy with the 84mm anti tank\personel launcher
The F4 hes speaking of im not to shure about, but i reacon its the same + provisions.

For the infantery squads its mostly the same + one mg3 gunner with 1000 rounds, and more grunts, cant vouch for it, but i mean its pretty accurate on the infantery part

the F4 is used by jegere in the Norwegian army, it's almost the same as F3, but the sack is much bigger then the one used with F3... actually, when you are wearing F4, you are wearing 2 sacks... you are wearing one sack that can take 125 liters, called the jegersekk, and on that sack, you mount another sack that can take 35 liters, called stridssekk - the stridssekk is the sack that is used with F3.

F4 contains sleepingbag, tent, food and cold weather clothes, basicly everything you need to stay alive for 5 days without resuplying
