Re: anyone serve in 13°DBLE ???

Oh yea, it was great! Oh, wait, I haven't even gotten to selection yet.

    Priorities, man.

Focus on getting in shape, learn as much French as possible, then set a date and buy a ticket. If your primary interest is money, the Legion is not for you. Do some more research and find out if the Legion is really something you would be interested in, and weather or not you have the proper motivations... IF you decide it is something you want for your life, then selection is as far ahead as you need to be looking. You can think about regiments if and when you get through selection.

    Oh Man...

Go to the main Legion Recruitment page...they have lists of the pay for many units and ranks...

Stop being such a Muppet as our friend PW would say. show some ability to find information on your own.

I trust you know which web site I am talking about? Google is your friend.

Re: Anyone served in 13°DBLE ?

I spent over 26 months there and made roughly $3 412 000 (OK I did rob a few banks, and sell drugs and guns and also smuggle people into France)

Come on dude if your here to ask silly questions I'm going to send you to a strange place called banned land for at least 2 weeks.

Your first priority is getting into the legion.

    Cpl K...

PS: A piece of advice go over seas once you have 5 years service this
way you can live out on town, you can buy a jeep or bike and wear
    civilian clothes....

Yea and I heard that in Djibouti for a bottle of water you have to pay aprox. 10 times more then in France.

Nope the tax is taken from your wages each month, so when you come back to France you have a paper saying you paid your tax in Djibouti....

Me I declared my wages each year to the French tax office OK I never had to pay anything (I know how to fill out the forms correctly and truthly)

Everything that enters Djibouti is charged 33% at the port.

OK if you want to live like a european nice steaks, cheese etc you will pay the price. Mates of mine used to pay around 4 euros for a kilo of rice, I would buy it from a mate at the port 25 kilos for 5 euros in a nice big bag saying red cross or united nations

A case of 24 coca cola bottles in a local shop costs the same price as one coca in a bar.

Have fun if you get there, I lost alot of money in the first year but in the second lived better than the general with my deals etc....
