    Prior Military History

during the interviews with the gestapo, can they find out about prior military experience? Or will your country usually keep that sort of information a secret?

    Re: Prior Military History

I see from your Profile you are a Former Marine and being from a culture where we are all proud of being Ex militarty and serving our country then why would you not inform your new employer of your past experence. It is of course all relevant in my opinion. And of course the question will be asked and if your truthful you will answer. There is a major diffrence between someone who is Prior service and someone who is not. As well as there being a diffrence of where you served and what branch and for what counrty. Of course all factors in my professional opinion will show what kind of man you are and under what circumstances you were discharged. Its a simple question and im sure that being an old element of todays world who take on prior service from all over the world. So the simple question of where did you serve and can i see you DD 214 for example is not going to be something they would not be aware of. As for what the British call theirs and all the rest of the worlds military well you can bet theyknow what they are called as well. If your not from the US then theres no need telling you what a DD214 is its just for us . But no matter where you serve theres always a record and theres no need to hide it unless you were a shit bag. And if you were then why in the hell would you want to join a Regimented way of life if you couldnt make it somewhere else.

....you'll have more than the average thresholds to go through in the FFL with gobby, stroppy ball-scratching frenchmen who think they're God's gift to your time in the FFL.....like other foemr legios you'll have to suck it all up including extra chores/consigné and after hours at the whim of a corporal or corporal-chef who'll test your threshold at putting up with FFL BS until youget corporal rank....18 months minimum...
Honi soit qui mal y pense et de la Légion étrangère.
Damn those that think badly of it and the French Foreign Legion.
