13°dble

How tough is it to be accepted to 13° DBLE as your primary choice if you make it through basic? I understand certain ones like 2° REP is very competitive to get selected, but I don't hear much for 13° DBLE. thank you

from what i've heard they usually dont take legionnaires fresh from boot. thats where i want to end up too, but i'm gonna shoot for the 2REP

...only two (Manders and Manson and Scots brothers) made it to Djib from the recruit cadre I was in: both deserted on their return to the French metropole....you've to understand the FFL and it is not for the FFL to understand your expectations...

Don’t worry about this or that Regiment… just get your big hairy fingers out of your asses and join the Legion. Once inside… there is plenty of time to wonder… analyze… balance one choice to another…
Internet is a great thing, but one get's all these “funny” guys that believe that they are going to some sort of cruise in the Mediterranean Sea. If the assignement officer decides that you are going to the 13°DBLE after basic, you will… if he decides otherwise, well… it will be otherwise.

...there was also Bentley and he also deserted after Djib and his first FFL posting...

damn, im here at the 13 now, and wondering why on earth would anybody want to come to this shit regiment...
aside from the money its not worth it. i know a guy in my section who was two years at the squadron and saved up about 60k...but its still a shit regiment...trop de chornie i guess
getting here right after basic is even harder than getting your ass to kourou, but consider that a gift from god
