French troops (FFL) in south Afghanistan

On the Highway 1 between Kabul and Kandahar, 2 NCO and a soldier were injured (one with minor injuries), during 2 attacks : IED attack, the VAB was not destroyed and during an ambush.
2 of the wounded were medevaced by US troops at Bagram (they are on the way to France now), the last one was healed by Canadian forces at Kandahar hospital.

Secretdefense blog announce that since Thursday, 130 French soldiers (FFL from an OMLT) and some elements of the 201 ANA corps come to reinforce the military operation in south Afghanistan. They drive from an area near Kabul and are now engaged in operations with other coalition troops.

If true, it's a bad start....an short of a KIA...nothing that corvées taught me to face a real live scenario in downtown Beirut...pardon my ignorance but what's an OMLT??

God bless secretdefense blog. There is supposed to be a media black out on these operations. The international media are reporting the incident as involving "American lead coaltion forces"
