    Which bus or train?

Hey, what bus number or train should i get from ether if i were to be coming from Paris to Aubagne, or Marseille to Aubagne. Please, state the charges and times (cheap preferable).

    Found good info, but fear might be outdated. You know how constant transportation changes undergo. Voltigeur website had few;
busline--bouches de rhone ligne no.68A (2.50 euros) stops at pole de exchange Aubagne...is it correct??

Train---Gare St.Charles to Aubagne (then 15mins walk to the gates)

cpl. k.,noted, and with interest forme, that there seemed to have been established at Paris airport, Legion info kiosk, where "one might hitch a milk-ride to Aubagne"...true????

    Re: Which bus or train?

Stop worrying about such micro details. Thousands joined before you without knowing all this minutiae and managed to get in. Rather focus on the "big picture" : what are your motivation, your fitness, your level of French, your alternatives outside of the Legion, etc. etc.
Soon you'll ask which colour is the bus going from Marseille to Aubagne or the age of the driver... :/

    Which bus or train?

Go to Southampton catch the ferry to Brest, then get a bus to Rennes. Walk to Nantes then the train to Bordeaux. Get a lift on a canal boat to Toulouse and then a train to Montpellier. From Montpellier find your way to Nîmes and hitch a lift from there to Avignon. Train to Nice and the ferry to Corsica. From there take the ferry to Genoa and an onward bus to Turin and through the tunnel to Grenoble. The fly to London, or perhaps someone knows a better way?

Don't know if you display the same attitude in 'real life' as on this board, but if by accident you get in the Legion, be prepared for a lot of "mind games". Mind that it would then most probably be a big punch in your face by a thick caporal-chef without any sense of humour...

If a French peasant can operate what we uneducated souls call a "bus timetable", I should imagine you'll have the transport system running like Zurich within 90 minutes of landing. What's to worry about?

    Which bus or train?

    More???

I went to France and just stopped and "asked" people along the way. The French are actually very helpful people and went out of their way to asssit me. They were more than willing to answer questions and are very "hospitable hosts". It is all in how you approach people (thus you might have issues). Only had one person ever be rude to me and that was in Paris, it was a Metro worker at an Information booth. haha. Go figure.

I had a beautiful French girl see the confused look on my face in the Paris Metro as I was looking at the map on the wall. She came up to me and offered to walk me to where I needed to go (like an idiot I didn't even bother to ask her name or ask her out for coffee).

In Aubagne, I stopped at the Gendarme Station and they were very helpful in giving me directions (there was a BEAUTIFUL Female officer and a guy, both helpful, I was pleasantly surprised to see such a hot female Police officer, here in the U.S., they tend to be a bit butch). Then a lady who was in there asking about a ticket offered to drive me where ever I needed to go and took me up to the "Red Lion", which actually wasn't very far.

In the Red Lion I had complete strangers buying me drinks from across the room. I can't say enough about what a great experience I had in France with the people.

(except for about 50% of the French in Selection, Half were obnoxious idiots and half were guys I thought were incredibly funny cool guys who I would have been happy to serve along side. Though the most 'Switched on guys" were Generally Westerners and Eastern Europeans for some reason. When it came to keeping their mouths shut and working hard that is).

Oh, and the French transportation system is superb.
