Long time lurker. First time poster.

I've never served in the Legion. Nor am I a wannabe. I'm too old now. (If I was 25 years younger with the knowledge that I have now....) However I served 10 years in the military as para, recce, and int.

I'm a part-time academic now, studying military culture & society. The Legion is a very interesting case study. So please forgive me if I ask an occasional bone question.
