Glad the site is back up.

Just wanted to say that i was glad the site was back up, i haven't been on in a while. Don't know if i am still going to try out, fact is i'm pretty sure i probably won't. I took into consideration alot of the things that were said here and for right now my life is pretty good and getting better. Not that i was joining becuase it was bad to begin with. I have always thought i wanted to do something in the military or law enforcement but my only option was the Legion, becuase of my past as a juvinile delinquent i can't go into that field in the states. anyway love reading some of the stuff on here and hope all that try out for the FFL get in. Good luck!!!

    Thumbs up Juvi Record

I understand what you are going through. All my life I have wanted to be a soldier, But when I was 14 I made a mistake that I am still paying the price for. I am unable to join the US military because of a mistake I made as a child. I am not a felon I didn't kill or rape anyone. I have never been in trouble since and I am almost 21. Don't give up hope if this is what you want to do. You only get one shot at your life, you should make the most of it whether it is in the Legion or not. Good Luck and enjoy your life.

    Bonjour Jobipolar,

I believe you are being too strict with your view of juvenile deliquency. I do not have the answers but it would be wrong for you not to spend some time finding out in person how you can rehabilitate your record and status.

Since you live in Los Angeles, it is easy for you to dedicate a couple of months of time to arrange appointments to meet with counselors from the MANY organizations who handle these matters. As soon as it stops raining in a few years time, get a raft and head over to the places that offer counseling.

This is applicable to the post from Phoeniz (Please excuse; forgot who wrote it) also.

    Saluations,
    BobW

For the Americans out there. It won't be long fellows, i am pretty sure the US military is going to be looking for every man they can get with-in the next year. Sure don't see no lines at the recruiting stations, even with a hearty sign up bonus. Hopefully they will give are Young men, who had to quit school for some reason (good or bad) or got a wild hair up their ass for some reason and done something that got them introuble with the law, a Chance to Enlist to straighen up there life and to serve their Country... Only other option is the DRAFT, and will i bet you won't see any politician, judges, CEO or any people with a lot of MONEY or INFLUENCE kids being drafted...They won't mess with the CREAM of AMERICA, they will come after the BACKBONE of America, middle class and poors... Just my opinion.

    Thumbs down Have tried

Bobw, Thanks for your imput. I have tried almost everything that I can. I went to court to get my record expunged but they would not do it. I have consulted with every branch of the US military and more than a few lawyers. My record is in Califorina and they tend to be very strict. If I am not accepted by the Summer I will leave for the Legion. Even before I found out that they are not willing to accept me the legion has been something that I wanted to do. I just wanted to have more experience before heading over to France.
