Enough is enough....Kiwi I have been reading your posts from the time I joined this board...been in China and having way too much free time on my hands has allowed me the chance to read pretty much everything that has come out of your little head and onto the board.
Now before you even try to gob off on here again...do as Bob said and go down to the NZ Army recruiters and gob off there...you would be sadly mistaken if you think you would even make it in the door with the attitude you have...then if you do get in the next person I want you to gob off to is your recruit intructor...then if you make it to RNZR try it there!...you will get one hell of a shock...!
You might want to consider doing some hard soldiering in that Regt. Then get some operational experience up...before you even think about the Legion again...you want to be a badass, a tough guy, get some time up...until that time pull ya ****in head in...oh and by the way the NZ SAS train with the Aussie SASR who train with the British SAS and many other fine Special Forces Units around the World. Most of them have had more trigger time than you have had wet dreams... So do us a favor show some ****in respect! I ****in hate smart ass little ****s like you...you are the ones who ****en UD and kill someone cause ya think ya ****in gods gift to soldiering before you have even srapped on the boots! One more thing if the NZ army don't do it for you....please feel free to try ya luck in the Aussie Army via SF Selection...! You need a good old bitch slap! You mentioned the word Merc...you been smokin way to much bud!
    Have a nice day!
    Mick
I apologies for stepping over the line here but I hate it when some little tosser starts bagging out on soldiers in general.

    Ulgh. Yeah, Yeah (again)

I realise that I do not have any military experience, I have never claimed that I had - so much so to the point where I actively declare that (reffer original post).

If you paid attention to my other post, you would see that I have already applied for the New Zealand Army, right now I am 16 and thus cannot JOIN. Next year, in May '05 (when I turn 17) I can join, which is exactly what I am doing.

They have already started various test, on a basic soldiering test I scored 87% and right now medical tests relating to my eyesight (I can scan the letters I have received FROM the Army, if you like). Shit do you want me to post a picture of me at their Offices? How about the Army Base 15 minutes away from my house.

And ... put your stereotype to bed dude, I ain't a tough guy, in reality I am a quiet guy who will SPEAK UP when he wants to, but also knows WHEN to shutup.

I was not/am not bagging out on soldiers (in general or otherwise), I was EXPRESSING DISGUST in what some people are "Quoting" from THEIR experiances in the Military. Thankfully Bob understands where I was coming from and interpreted it pretty well, you have Beau saying "**** TV, Clean your FAMAS" then other guys saying "Uh, if you hide your Laptop or Playstation, it's fine... The Armies are different now, you can play games"... blah blah blah. See my point of view?

I see your point of view...I also see the same attitude that I had when I went the Kapooka...after my first and last dose of "Creek line Counsilling"...and yes it still happens...more mental than physical these days...you need to try to stop all ya back chatting, gobing off and of coarse the old roll of the eyes routine b4 you go in! If ya don't you will be FONC'ed on from a great high (Friend Of No Cu*t) and your life in the Army will not be fun... Oh and stop saying "I know" "Yep" "No probs" that sort of thing. All you should be saying is "Yes Corporal" "No Corporal" and if you can do that here you should be fine!

Oh and don'y reply to this with "Yes Corporal" that would you been a smartass...besides i am a "Mr"...!
Think hard about things you do every day in the real world because the simple facial gesture you make reading this...really pisses recruit intructers off!
Good luck and Have a nice day!

So technology has advanced into the Legion. I can't understand why there's so much bitching about it, the technology and weapons and uniforms may change but the Legion stays the same. People go to Aubagne and try but do not get selected, some leave because they don't like what they see, some get the gate because the Legion don't like what they see, at least they tried, some go on to Castel, then theie regiments. People knock the Legion but have never been in (armchair commandos). I once came across a person i won't name or shame him as i put him straight in front of his girlfreinds family, what happened i was at the house with his girlfreinds sister (overnight of course), anyway in the morning a package, came through the letter box, for this person, he's started crying its came, i'm stood there what the ****s came uh, well it turned out he's just received through the post, for services in the Falklands, and for unbielevable bravery, the victoria cross, well come on, all the Brits on here know, you dont get them through the post, we all know the queen delivers them personnaly, well i put him down there and then, he was actually 6 battalion Somerset light infantry, which is actually a t/a battalion, which as we all know never served in the Falklands, ive listen to people bragging they've been legionnaires, but walk of when you start asking them questions. My point is everybody has there dreams, but have they got the bollocks to put those dreams into reality????? Very few will, so to the ones who will become or try to become a legionnaire good luck, and to the armchair commandos, try not to rip the armchair with your medals.

The regimental foyer has a video most days when you're in barracks.
This was the case in the 2eREI when there in 1997. The foyer in Nîmes is far cry from that which I knew in Bonifacio. However, there is no guarantee on 'reasonable behaviour' by those who watch it.
been in china and having way to much free time on my hands
Mick, Can't you chase chaste Chinese girls with your hands during your free time...I mean, they'd improve their English even more...

This is true, I think it was in Vietnam they were given the name "Jungle Ghosts" for their superb ability to Track and remain Undetected in the VC's "Home". I have read some impressve hair raising tales of their triumphs, though hardly anything is spoken of them these days.

One of the Training requirements (pretty much during selection) is that they complete a never-ending Orientation (sort of) Tramp through the Waikato area (middle'ish of the North Island) unaided during the night. This is after 3 days of no sleep.

I also read somewhere that during this "Tramp" they are hunted by other Units, but I am not sure if this is true. The worst in my mind is the run they have to complete, which is over sand dunes on the West Coast of New Zealand. That shit will sort the men from the boys!

The term was "Ghosts of the Jungle" it was the nick name that the VC gave to the SASR in Vietnam....the only one of them I knew was a bloke called Major Bailey (that was his rank when I knew him back in 97).
He was A Coy's OC at the time...I will tell ya...he was one very dangerous looking individual. He would just stare at you never smile and no one ever stepped out of line. However that was just his war face after work he was a top bloke with shit loads of knowlege to give to us mere mortals and if I remember correctly he hated the fact that his name was splashed around in the book by the same nick name!
SASR selection sucks the big one! Similar to the FFL selection with the medical, mental and fitness tests+ a crap load of paperwork! Then you got the "the selection camping trip"! 9-10 days/nights out in the bush getting pushed to both ya phsyical and mental limits. As one of the old boys here said "it is not the end but the begining" if ya make the cut you have the next 18-24 months for all the other phases of ya training...patrol phase...para phase...E&E phase...etc...I don't know what the rest are as I never got past selection! A long time and a long road to get into the sabre squadrons....things have changed now...You have SF selection barrier test then you go to SFTC, then you go to 4RAR Cdo then if you get noticed you might get an invite to go to the West and play there! Roads even longer now!
As far as Chinese girls, Eagle this ain't Phuket. Chicks here have a thing I am not familiar with "morals"...small town 600,000 and no clue about the real world...they call me "wai-gau-ren" which means foreigner but I think it means "watch out for the bloody white guy he be looking for sex" these people are very smart!

There is "Fouquet's", a landmark restaurant on the Champs-Elysées and "Phuket", a landmark holiday resort in Thailand. Both have the same pronunciation to anglophones. I'll introduce you to some Chinese girls if you're ever in my hood...Perhaps s.o should start a thread in this aspect of FFL life.

Your playstation will at some point take an OVNI/UFO test out of the window as demonstrated by one of the duty corporals, chef de chambre or "lifers" and perhaps you with it. This is very likely if he has been in the 3eREI. Hell, I used to throw dirty frying pans out of the window when I was chef de chambre..and I'd like to have been seen as a 'stable guy' in the FFL.

I'd like to see the state of Kiwis head after having ordered his Bulgarian room mate to stop playing with his PS2.
