Why does everyone think just on money? Money isn't everything in the life.

I think you should join to ffl for honour not for money. That is my opinion, and that is what i will do.

I like the 45 days of leave per year. For the duration of my service I averaged 19 per year! The top pay I ever received was about $2600 per month as a brigadier in Chad. The pay in Djibouti was 2.8 times higher than in France because we were paid the same number of Francs in Djibouti currency as in our French currency along with the rate hikes for different risks and the exchange rate for the currency was 2.8. If we spent our money in Djibouti prior to the exchange we were poor. Save the money and exchange it into Francs, we were rich, or 2.8 times not as broke.

How much do you get paid if you retire after the 17 years?
And if you are in 2REP do you stay in Calvin or you can also get deployed to Djbouti and Guyana?

...That's assuming you survive...don't join the FFL in with that expectation: be prepared to die or worse....

It depends on the rank you've reached. A pension for a retired Adjudant-chef is not the same as the one of a caporal-chef.

In most cases, would it be liveable or would you have to move to some Asian country to benefit the most of it?

Certainly not enough to have a decent living in Norway. Cost of living there has always amazed me...

Don't you have to be in France to be able to get the retirement? Anyways if you can live on it in France then it is pretty good.

This is to K9 : I'm not being funny but IU'm not going to join the Legion just for cash. If it was cash i was after i've got a degree and i live just outside London so i would earn big bucks there. But when i'm in the Legion i need BEER tokens and enough money to cover the costs for the hookers that's all !!!!!
