    French Foreign Legion Pension

Hello everyone. I am an American who is interested in joining the the French Foreign Legion. I understand one can retire after only 15 years, is this true? If so what is the pension?

The Pension in the Legion is a very sketchy thing. The amount you receive will be based on ALOT of different things. Time in, rank, pay, the year, the French, you name it bro. I know a SCH right now who just got his pension and it was amazing...wow. He has 24 years in and has been around in the Legion, but alas he is married and has kids so he needs to move on and retire to let younger guys like me back in! Im sorry i can't give an excact amount, but i will say this...it's much larger than the US Military Retirement.

This is the wrong starting point. Do your first five and survive to tell the tale and then after think about doing fifteen with a pension to go with completed service....struce.....

I think I read somewhere before that the pensions depends on how many actions you seen and so on...
And the pension is very little if you remain in france or resides at other more developed countries like uk etc... ard 300-400 euros monthly
