Excellent. I suggest you put a small fanion (pennant) with Cervens.net on top of your FAMAS, so that we can recognise you on TV .
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] will also be there.

    Re: Bastille Day 2012

Is there a way to watch this online? I seem to recall people at a French restaurant in Minneapolis watching this every July but I'm sure it wasn't on American TV networks.

Screw the défilé... Enjoy the bal des pompiers in Paris! Bonus points for coming back with the képi noir of a pompier plus some photos of hot chicks at said event(s) of debauchary!

I've never been accosted by so many random chicks on the street as I was while wearing the képi blanc and TDF the day before Bastille Day. Just make sure your tenue de parade is perfect, have a back-up képi, belt, pantalon, etc... Because all those may or may not come back with you.

    Don't say you weren't warned.

Correct, but they'll be parading onboard their VBL (Véhicule Blindé Léger) not on foot.

Well this is more than obvious, since parading on foot means standing up for hours and then, believe it or not, walking for a few hundred meters. And we all know that such feats of courage and heroism are not common within the cavalry.

I remember clearly parading a LONG time on a hot asphalt road between Kreider and Bouktoub with no one to watch or cheer us on (and no infantry or paras to be seen anywhere because they could not hack it)

Try the web sites of some French TV channels, like [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Alternatively, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to see pictures of the parade that will be put online tomorrow (14.Jul) afternoon (Continental Europe Time).

It's a German infantry/recce unit, based in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, just south of Strasbourg in Alsace (not far from the German border). It belongs to the so-called BFA (Brigade Franco-Allemande).
