Aussie Recruiters in US to attract veterans for mining jobs

Worth a look into if you are a US Vet keen on working overseas. Mining industry may be an option.

Throw open the door to US Vets, South African Farmers and Irish laborers and Two Pound Poms IMHO, far better than the ghetto trash we are currently letting in.

Mate.... Could not agree more... If there keen to work bring it on... Only problem is why are they knocking back Aussies keen for the jobs? I've got a mate who has every welding ticket under the sun... Fully qualified but no one will look at him! I've heard similar stories from other people too! What's the story? They say there is a skills shortage but people with skills are getting turned around at the gates!

Damn this is really great only you'd have to have a trade qualification (correct me if im wrong).
Going out of infantry (am not, just saying), probably the only "follow up" is security industry.

This is half the problem "too many jobs but not enough to go around". Corporate hard hitters like Gina Rinehart, Clive Palmer and Woodside claim that Aussie's are "lazy, inefficient and prone to strike and are over paid", hence the push for 457 Visas and workers who wind their neck in and take half the pay.
I was out of work for two months just recently and applied for about 70 jobs. Heard some of these had been granted to inexperienced imports from over east and overseas prepared to work for less, the rest went to "friends and relatives". Goes to show, its not what you know, but who you blow.

I don't know about over paid & prone to strike, maybe in the major construction industries & mining, but Aussies are definitely lazy & inefficient. The one thing Aussies lack is motivation, we've had it too good for too long that we can't appreciate how far some people will travel to feed their families. Fair shout I say.

As for Clive & Gina, can you imagine their fat little offspring if they ever bumped uglies! Ha. Vomit!
