    Hello again

I'd thought I would introduce myself again: just got the boot out of junior officer training with NZ Navy over some bullshit. So now definitely saving up to try-out for the Legion. Fark me tickets are really expensive aye !

    Re: Hello again

what's with this whole "saving up" bullshit? I see so many people who are "saving up" before they leave... it's almost as bad as the "I just need one/two years to get in shape before I go". Do you people really live with $1 in your pockets? And even if you do, sell everything you have and go.

obviously. So I'm guessing you are living under a bridge then? With 5 minutes of searching I can find flights from NZ to Paris for under 1000e. I'm sure with some time put into the search you can get something for around 800e. Sell your shit and buy a flight...that is just the most simple option... there are countless others. "Saving up" is just another way of putting off the departure... either you got the balls or you don't.

Greetings from another kiwi, harsh words here but fair perhaps. Given you don't get to take anything in with you and you're signing up for 5 years, what could you possibly plan on keeping possession wise back in NZ? I have $30k of debt to square away before I can think about leaving (given id like to return at some stage...) if I just lived simply for a year I could probably square it away, but the mere fact I continue to squander all of my money on entertainments serve as personal reminders of how NOT read I am to sign up for a spartan style military experience.

Currently serving in RNZAF, they haven't been able to kick me out yet.

Last thing, find the book 'Marching With the Devil' by an Australian who did his 5 years. Lots of food for thought within.

I agree with everything mammikoura is saying, my opinion is " Just another bullshit story of another guy wishing to go but will keep putting it off
Cry, 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war.
