Off again tuesday

Off again to Saigon on Tuesday morning via Bangkok. Happy to report that the photos from the museum at Dien Bien Phu should be posted shortly by one of the anciens in Germany who kindly agreed to put them on site.

I really didn't manage to get too much help from the quacks here which was the main reason for coming back after only a month. I had more tests including electric probes to my hands, an MRI and X-rays. New pain patch
was horrible and I felt like a zombie as well as an allergic reaction to the glue in the patch. I just decided to suck it up and get on with things.

If all goes well I can open my new school just after Tet ( february). I have a residence permit for three years starting when I get there and have an apartment lined up. Waiting for Hanoi to approve the school but there shouldn't
be too many problems to overcome. Bureaucrats the world over.......

Happy to be leaving just to avoid all the political crap and ads on TV every two minutes. I really don't care who wins. They are all the same.

Again, anyone heading my way has a bed and beer any time starting in September. Would be great to go back to Dien Bien Phu with someone. Have heard about an an ancien in thailand who was there and will try to track him
down. He lives in Chang Mai and I have a friend there who might be helpful in finding him.

Best of luck to you and keep us informed. I, for one, am interested, not everyday I have the honor of hearing from people doing what you do and don't get me wrong, but at that age, make's it more remarkable.

There are several former RMs' living in Thailand and certainly one who used to run a bar in Chang Mai.
He may have retired now but I will enquire off his oppos. They will definitely know about any Anciens.

Thanks Chas. Would like the info and I will try and make contact. I do get to Chang Mai, have a friend living there. Also heard about an ancien in Cambodia and will try to track him down.
