    Introduction and a misc question.

Hello to everyone and thank you for keeping this forum up, whenever I google something about the FFL it usually points me here.

Anyway the forum is threatening to delete my account unless I post something so other than just an introduction I figured Id ask something that Im not sure is a big deal or not.

What are the rules and policies regarding to left-handed people? Would holding the FAMAS on my left shoulder cause me to get hit in the head by the ejecting bullet case? I've read that the US military puts something on their guns to deflect the case towards the ground and not upwards towards the shooter, so how does the FFL deal with this? Do they force you to shoot with your right hand like the teachers forced me to write with my right when I was a kid? It must be effective since Ive completely forgotten how to write with my left.

When you dismantle the FAMAS and put it back together, you can choose to have the ejector on the right or the left side. Very convenient and no use to have any sort of additional device.

I'm sorry I'm a little confused. Does the Legion allow its legionaires to operate left handed?

Yes, Rapace stated that the FAMAS allows the soldier to select if the cartridge ejects to the left or to the right. With both options available, why would a left handed soldier select 'eject left' and then proceed to fire as a right handed soldier would?

I am unsure if the Legions CQC formations require all right handed shooters.

If you're talking about marching formations, then that's pretty much for every army in the world. As for shooting; only Brits and Muslims require you to be all right handed shooter.

Ever hear of shooting from cover ? Can't always select which corner of the building you're going to approach to/from... Besides, it's not impossible to shoot a FAMAS set up to eject left with the right hand. Did it all the time...
And no, Legion SOP does not require all shooters be right-handed. That would just be silly.

Sure it is, but not very convenient, and you must be careful if you don't want to get a burning hot 5.56 mm case in the face...

Nope, very easy actually...turn FAMAS 90°, ejection port down, cross on biceps...helps to have a RDS though, otherwise accuracy sucks.

But I still prefer a M4 or AK over a FAMAS. Much more versatile.

Re: Introduction and a misc question.

No exp. with FAMAS or M4 but the AK I dealt with and it kind of lack's accuracy. At least the one's I got my hand's on...even got surprised by a jammed cartridge and involuntary fire (if that's the correct expression when a shot is fired without even touching the trigger). Now before someone tell's me that those are sign's of poor maintenance, well not on my part, that's for sure.

I guess it depends on the model or variant. Finnish AK variants, the RK-62 & RK-95, are based on the Polish variant of AK. In the finnish rifle, the rear-sight is mounted on the back of the case, not in the middle of the rifle as in many other variants. It is very accurate. If I remember correctly, 80% of our conscripts achieve hit accuracy of 70% or more at 150m in daylight (although this is less than targeted. The manual states that all conscripts must achieve an accuracy of 80% in daylight and 70% in darkness to a target of 20cm in diameter).
