hi there, getting ready to join the FFL

    Hello

im 25 years old, and i´m getting prepared to join the legion, i´ve been training a lilttle bit but i need more improvement in the running part, so i´m delaying my departure to france until i´m in a good shape so i can pass comfortably the tests.

    These are my stats :

    55 sit ups

    65 push ups

    10 pull ups

    3000 m in 14:10

i always run in a woods track and sometimes in military boots, just buyed a bagpack, let´s see how it will work out

I wanted to follow the stoeng program but there is somethings lacking like the rope (can´t find one anywhere) and the military weekends, i don´t train on weekends because i have to work.

I´m looking for advice and some "wake up" calls from all of you

    Thanks

You want to go to the Legion and work stop you. Quit your job and buy a ticket to France and do everything that you can do in the running.

i only work at weekends, so i train in the week days, honestly i´m pushing really hard to run that distance/time, and in the tests we have to add the stress factor, i´m not ready yet to join in and i know it.

Plus the last two weeks i fell a bit behind in my training as i got sick.

I wanted to go in the 4th of june, but facing my actual status thats out of question

    thanks for your answer

For the rope ,try body weight towel pull ups wet the towel first and throw it over the bar and climb on the spot...........read Adj Stoengs piece on technique for the rope for when you find one....good luck !

Okej thought you work 7 day a week and then didnt have time to train.
Try to do diffrent things of running, fast, slow, short, long.
If you are sick dont think about the training and be sick and start again when you ready.

I think there is no short cut to improve your running. You just have to run after running. Intervals is good spice

Re: hi there, getting ready to join the FFL

yeah i read it, the forehead to throat rope climbing technique, pretty helpfull.

i´m waiting untill i get better so i can go back to track on the run part, it´s like a figth with myself LOL always hated to run so i have to shut up
the annoying inner voice being lazy and telling me to quit, i guess that´s the biggest challenge to everyone, push our limits beyond by ourselves.

as for running with weights i guess it´s not that good for the knees as it can generate extra stress to it, i´ll give it a shot with the bagpack with 12kg.

is there someone who can give a few pointers about what they are looking for in the interview, our motivation etc....

    thanks

No, he's from the Bahamas. His written English is a bit of a give away...
Fijians: down-time; reading and writing? NO,
    drinking, playing rugby, fighting? YES.

Maybe he's gone from the Bahamas to Fiji for a nice holiday in the tropics????
