British Army snlr, discharged from Army jail for awol

I've tried searching this site and military record sites and even e-mailed the MoD to see if a foreign army can get hold of info about me, all to no avail.
I was 21 when I got snlr discharge from Colchester for going awol (personal reasons). I liked being in the army! I'm 30 now and very dissatisfied with life. If i lie about my British Army record can the French find out? I've been putting off going for some time now due to this fact. Sorry if it's a ‘stupid question’ but i can't find any answers.
    Cheers.

The British Army / MOD won't pass your details to anyone under these circumstances. If they were after you they may ask the Legion to give them the nod if you should turn up, therefore keep your gob shut. If you've already blown your PERSEC here in other posts then you may have blown it again as you can bet that posts on this site are monitored. Also did you use your real name when you registered for this site ?
I just looked at your previous posts and you've been "en route" for over two years , so what's happening?

If it takes you more than 2 years to get ready, without trying while you're in the Uk (a mere 1½ h flight from Aubagne), without even having yet made up your mind, then the Legion is probably not for you. Stop dreaming...

Please pay attention to your spelling. Your prose is just incomprehensible. I gave up reading before the end of the first line.

    'Dog' is saying:

'That is your opinion, and I understand why you would say that, it's taken so long as I do not want bailiffs knocking on my retired parents door looking for me and for money. Wouldn't that situation possibly lead to a man deserting? Also I didn't realize that there was a time limit on deciding to actually go.'

The man has a valid point Rapace, as a former soldier it's not as if he is some wannabee who has never had military service, and it makes sense for him to take care of things at home before he leaves in order not to be selfish. Have a little faith in your fellow man old boy

I applaude him for not escaping his debts and leave it to his parents to solve them but to take care of them himself. But getting discharged fot being AWOL makes me wonder if he is able to stay the full 5 years. For sure if the Gestapo finds out he will get an inapt definitive.

Ah I see, its one thing to claim previous military service, but to do so by declaring you deserted from your previous contract, to join a military formation notorious for desertion issues... I understand where you are coming from.

Anyway, I see you are Dutch? Hoi, prettig met je kennis te maken, Ik heet Dave, ik kom uit Engeland, maar mijn oma en opa zijn nederlands en wonen in Leiden, hoe gaat het met je, wat is jouw naam?

    Dave

Thanks for the English translation ! I really meant that I stopped reading his prose before the end of the first line. Moral of the story : if you want to convey a message, a bit of formality may help.
