    2 weeks to go

Hi guys. In 2 weeks I'm going to Aubagne. I want to push the maximum in these two weeks.

I can do 8 dead hang pull-ups, 20 push-ups , 100 squats and about 40 sit-ups in a row. I haven't measured out my running speed and time, I usually do about 6-10 km a day on irregular/inclined roads x4. I can march with a 15kg backpack military-like long distances. I know that it isn't pretty much, but I used to weight-lift, I've been focused on strength more than on endurance.

I've searched the forum, but I haven't found anything that I could use. What you guys think that I should do?

Until today, this was my training:

    Day A

    Bench press 4x6/5/4/3
    Weighted Pull-ups 4x6
    Dips 3x4-7
    Crunches 2xMax.

    Day B

    Deadlift 4x5
    Chin ups 5xMax.
    Leg curl 3x6
    Crunches 1xMax.
    Russian Twist 2xMax.

    Day C

    Squat 4x6/5/4/4
    Push Press 3x5
    Pull ups 3x8
    Bulgarian Squat 3x10
    Good Morning 3x7

Last week I was doing the armstrong pull-up program, and this week I'm doing the GTG for pull-ups (I like it more).

Sorry if there is a similar thread, but I couldn't find it.

I think you should atleast take 1 more month of running, sit and push ups. You're on the absolute minimum.

    Re: 2 weeks to go

Well, I didn't knew that push-ups were required in the selection process.

I've already bought my ticket, so I have those 2 weeks to push the limits, I'll stop doing weightlifting and I'll focus on endurance training with sit-ups, pull-ups, push-ups and HIIT for the running.

    Thanks anyway

    Scorpio
push ups is not part, but with any army you never knew.
The rest look very good and you way above minimums especially the "dead hang" pullups.. straight arms.. The running is not to clear what you can do. 2800-3000 meters in 12 minutes will get you close anything under that is better.
Just remember that dead hang pullups is normally being performed straight after the run, so all the blood will be in the legs and people that can normally do 10 suddenly struggle to do 7, because you will be still gasping for air from the run.
If you go, get the head down and give it your all out best. Ticket already bought so make the best. At least you seem to be in better condition then a certain poster here telling you you are on bare minimums..

If I was you I would now concentrate more on the endurance,, get out of the gim. Running, hiking walking fresh air pullup here and there where you see you can do a pullup outside.. you will b e surprised to see how many odd places you can do pull ups outside.. Time to "cut" a bit. every little kilo less you need to carry with you will make a HUGE difference..

It's true, I give you that one, but why highlight this? I didn't say I was better then him in anything. I just pointed out the things that I think he needs to work on to increase his chances. This comment was by no means meant do discourage him. But the advice given by a "man that's not even at the bare minimums" was liked by 4 people, including the poster.

    So **** YOU!

easy now, Belaboks son is already a legionnair.
You don't want him to wait for you in Aubagne and kick your arse the first minute you arrive.
Wouldn't improve your chances at selection

    Skorpio,

Have you read Stoeng's excellent write up of his Training program to get into the FFL?

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

That is what you need. Forget the gym and everything else and do this.

You'll thank him for providing the program, and me for pointing it out to you.

    Good luck!

    Re: 2 weeks to go

Well, I do something like 6 km in 30min I think. I run in lightly inclined roads since I prefer running far from the city. I will try to do at least 3km in 12 minutes, maybe HIIT will help me there.

Gatorojo, I've read Stoeng's FFL training program, it's great yeah but as I said I couldn't find anything that could help me in my situation.

On the other way I like challenges, it motivates me really hard, so if I focus on running and endurance training on those exercises as you said I think I can make it. Should I train everyday? leaving 1 rest day, or train less days a week?

    Thanks for the advices. Appreciated

    Re: 2 weeks to go

Skorpio if i may suggest something, give yourself a day to recover a little you really dont want to risk all by giving so much that you injure yourself now. You already did put in the hard work.. 2 weeks, 2 days extra, you not going to gain anything more with that. Train normally till the day you go. then sit back and relax. 3-4 days doing absolutely nothing (traveling and getting there and the PT tests normally second day, ) and you will be amazed to see what you can. All professional athletes will tell you it is a good thing cutting back the week before the event.. Your body need to properly recover for that once in a lifetime test where you have to put your body on the line to make this dream come true.. take care..

Another suggestion, week before you go if you have the means/money go see a doc and ask him for a general booster injection (normally a Vitamin b12 with some other vitamins - its nothing illegal, just some vitamins). Remember you will get together there with many from all over the world and apart from the body that need to be strong, make sure the immune system is also taken care off. My son decided to go for such a "booster" and he was about the only one that did not pick up some kinda flu during his selection process. However that is all up to you.

I hope to only see you post here again in 4 months time from date that you go in and to see your name in green. So good luck mate.
