Re: What kind of physical training you train before apart to France?

I run 1 hour a day, and do 25- 30 pulls up seperate into 5 sets. and do a sit up 300 time seperate into 4 sets. aiming to hit 400 time 4 sets. and push up 100 time seperate into 5 sets as well.

my pull up really suck, the first set i can do full, but the rest of the sets i can't hardly reach my head. but that's still consider 1 time to me lol

and i ran 50 minute only 5 km... so usually 6km an hour.

i do swimming once in a week. 500m breaststroke and 1000m freestyle, and 500m butterfly. my butterfly suck, but i still trying to swim it even thou doesn't look like a butterfly stroke. cause it's a very tiring stroke.

so usually i will run 1 hour , then after a rest i will start doing 5 time pull up, then next 20 push up. then rest for a minute. then continue till the 3rd set i will go do sit up. so my hand muscle has more resting time.

I am older & now train with a Quick drive to the donut shop,,if you learn to do dead drop pull ups.you will eventually increase ability
do the Atlas dynamic tension,,where you force your left hand down with pressure from the right.place R palm in left palm push up with left & down with right, then switch,,this works better than weights & requires no equipment ,hold for 6 seconds hold arms just below neck, press R fist against left, use force with all your strength press one aganist the other, do this for 6 seconds , then cup fingers, left into right & pull.
and pull with arms at upper stomach area
you will feel the muscles working actually trembling ,this will make a difference in 1 month..I use to use this with USMC recruits who had upper body weakness & were poor at pull ups
    master of controversy

what are you thoughts on crunches and other ab exercises?

i've read a lot of professionals are moving away from the traditional sit-up, it has a lot of potential to cause arthritis of the neck (cervical spondylosis) and other problems.

Re: What kind of physical training you train before apart to France?

sit-ups aint bad, but there not great either, there just old school/classic way of training, crunches are very affective to isolating the abs, also leg raises laying on the floor or hang both are very good and side crunches, all these place more focus on the abs, rather then the sit up which in some circumstances can hurt and even ijure some people since it is very easy to mess up on due to spinal preassure and neck jurking, but if your not a complete bellend then the sit-up wont do any harm but mixing a combination of these and any other ab exercises you come across will do wonders for the shape and endurance/toughness of the muscle, if you are looking for the asthetic abs then hiit cardio and obviously a well thought out diet is the best way to go, if not get a rough diet on the go and do your exercises and you will have above average abbs in look, but in hardness and endurance will be alot higher also.

..variety is best you do karate jabs & kicks to build confidence
..millions of military recruites & soldiers accross the world,do at least 600 situps in boot camp & military training every year
..a variety of exerzise builds strength, strength, confidence & dexterity
..if you have no area to safely run or weather is bad,, run in place
there is a small danger in any type of exerzise but the good far exceed the bad.
I am 70 years old ,have many injuries but still do at least a 10 minute work out each day,,The pain & sweat of exerzise is weakness & fear leaving the body.

I heard similar things. I've heard sit ups (meaning putting head up to your knees and back down) is bad for your back in the long term. A crunch is much better, where you just lift your head (and lifting it straight up, not toward your knees) a few inches off the ground, just enough so your shoulders aren't touching the ground.

I never heard it causes arthritis per se, but I heard it causes unspecified back problems because it is putting unnatural pressure on the spine's curve by straightening it. Yeah I'm obviously not an expert, but that is the logic behind not doing sit ups.

In my case it was my great-grandfather and my namesake. He did less than 5, but it was daily, and it saw him to 96. It's solely because of his example that I am driven to be healthy until the day I die as he did.

People still remember "that old white-haired feller walking all over the place, no matter the weather nor season". Inspiring. To me anyway..

Your routine is actually pretty motivating, how long have you been at it? I've been getting a lot better lately, i am about at your pace except the swimming. My pushups and pullups have greatly increased since i started rock climbing on my off days, but 2 miles in 12 minutes seems crazy! What's your current 2 mile run time?

is is not, don't know the mile to the km but sounds like a normal score for the cooper test. if your fit you can do 3000 meters or more at Cooper

Re: What kind of physical training you train before apart to France?

    just 2 months...started at december.

yes 2 mile in 12 minute is really crazy, so i decided to hit 3000m in 12 minute then i'll fly to aubagne again. i guess 7 pallier should be okay if i can hit 3000m under 12 minute, my last two week of 12 minute cooper was only 2km. lol
trying to hit 2.4km, then 2.6km, then 2.8km.

Two miles is about the same as 3,000 meters (3000m is 1.86 miles). I think it is a well above average time too.

Re: What kind of physical training you train before apart to France?

I had no physical training prior to joining but understood the French language very well...the best preparation is arguably the French language so as to understand what is happening around you at all times and to be treated like an idiot by some EVs and above...if you're not psychologically prepared, that is, able to understand what is happening around you, your physical resistance threshold will be lessened over time in boot camp. On the other hand, if you're a former soldier, the military routine aspect is perhaps easier for you to understand especially long marches, physical effort and long guard others to which you were prepared for in your own army....
