Over 30,000 British, French and Indian soldiers KIA/died combined. Re: ANZAC Remembrance, 25th April

    A day for remembrance....

I couldn't attend a dawn service today , but I went down to a local cemetery with my dog .

as I walked up to the graves the stones are all facing inwards , the very first stone that i came across was an Argyll and Sutherland Highlander !

I took a few moments and paid my respects to another fellow Scot a long way from home .

Those heroes that shed their blood And lost their lives...
You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.
    Therefore, rest in peace.
There is no difference between the Johnnies
And the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side,
Here in this country of ours.
You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries...
    Wipe away your tears.
Your sons are now lying in our bosom And are in peace.
After having lost their lives on this land, they have
    Become our sons as well
