I’ve been a member of this site for a canny few years now, as I was also a member of the original forum as well, I remember when I first came across the site, I watched and read the threads for months before I decided to join, even then it took me a good while before I plucked the courage up to introduce myself....I knew of Joette and Ariel as I’d seen them post topics, and chat in the room(in the old forum you didn’t have to be a member in order to watch the chat room), but I also knew it was mostly a male forum, but the threads and posts grabbed my interest, the comradeship shared between most was plain to see, the humour of the threads and posts made me curious and that is why I joined, I wanted to become part of the forum...the banter...the crack and hopefully maybe be accepted even though I was a female...

And the strangest thing of all was......I was accepted...by Joette and Ariel...and most of the regulars as well, while others said nothing, if they weren’t happy about it, they certainly never said anything...well apart from one member who made his feelings very plain but believe it or not he ended up becoming one of my friends.

I’ve always respected the forum and what it stands for, I’d never dream of posting in most of the threads as its none of my business, and it was actually the moderators that decided to give us ladies our little corner....so that we could post our girlie topics and useless chitchat etc and that then gave the male members the choice of whether they wanted to join in with us in our corner and not feel like “us ladies” we’re taking our girlie talk into their main forum, and it has worked, well I thought it had...

I don’t live in the forum as I do actually have a life in the “real world” I’m a single parent and I also work full time, so I might not post in here a lot BUT I do poke my head around in here at least once a week, just to keep up on what’s what and to see how everyone is.

I’ve never been disrespectful to any member of this forum nor have I ever flirted or been romantically linked to any male member of this forum either!

Ok well me and PW did wind the forum up by pretending we we’re going to get married!! lmao!! now that was funny! just our humour though...PW is quite the wedding planner though Ha!

I’ve made a very small group of who I regard as good friends in here, one of which we all sadly lost, he’s greatly missed and to me...the forum just hasn’t been the same since.
I had been chatting to one of you through private email and had intended to meet up for a drink as friends the next time he was up my way, but for whatever reason it just didn’t happen.

The best advice I’ve ever been given was by a very well respected Ancien....he told me on a few occasion's to always....“take the high ground” and there have been times when its been hard not too but I have always stuck to it...Thank you for that x

My humour is very dry and very wicked...some people like it and some people don’t....if you don’t like it...well to me that’s easy....just ignore me...making someone feel crap to make yourself feel better is not my way....because I was always brought up to believe that...if you’ve got nothing nice to say....just don’t say anything at all...

At the end of the day.....this is all just plain black typing in a box...some people take it with a pinch of salt and some people don’t....some people don’t have feelings and some people do, having a difference of opinion is never easy but we are at the end of the day.....adults...

I treat everyone with respect and it would be nice if others could do the same with me, I don’t do posts in here of a sexual explicit nature or swearing etc BUT that is just MY choice and has no reflection on what the rest of you post....I have a right laugh at your posts in here like!!!!

The “Ladies Corner” is a tongue in cheek bit of fun..nothing in here is meant with any malice at all or to cause arguments amongst the members....not really sure how many of you guys like having us in here, I do remember once doing a voting thread as to whether you lot wanted us ladies in the forum or not....and the result was....that you did want us BUT if that has changed and you men would prefer the forum to be none female just say and I’ll leave as quietly as I entered.

Back to the point of this thread; It's a long old story as far as I'm concerned with women in men's environments. The 58+ years I have spent on this planet have adequately demonstrated to me that eventually it all ends in tears one way or another. We're all going to have differing views and opinions, you know that. And not everyone is going to get along, but it is what it is.

In my opinion, it's nice to have some women on the forum, I'm opened minded (No Manjamesque type shit), and I like hearing different views from people of all walks of life, makes life a bit interesting.

This forum, while a place to honor Ze Boss's father, is like a metaphor for me, in the sense like a pub, you see the same people here talking about different things. Sure you get different people popping in from time to time, but essentially the same crowd.
