    Legion Unit PT

    A question for the Anciens...

when you guys were in, what did you do for unit PT? In the Marines we just run like fcuk (which I enjoy) and we usually throw in some kind of circuit training, but the majority of fitness other than running, obstacle courses and marches are usually left up to you. It's a personal responsibility to keep yourself fit, but God himself can't save you if you can't do close to a perfect PFT/CFT

What kinds of PT did you guys do?

Did you guys ever do pullups, rope climbing or anything else besides running? Or did you just do running in the morning and strength training in the afternoon?

    Re: Legion Unit PT

I always enjoyed the Parcours du Combat, (obstacle course). When Stoeng dragged us through it the first time we suffered 10% casualties. This was deemed acceptable. I learned how to say "fvck" in six different languages. My favorite was the three telegraph poles pushed together, climb up about 10 meters and jump into a pile of rocks...you will love it. the key to surviving this is to jump onto the guy below you befoer he gets clear, much softer....

    Hope this helps..

    Stoeng,

I'm sorry if there was any confusion. I'm just trying to figure out what the Legion does in terms of daily PT. Legion0715 mentioned that in the USMC he did lots of running and circuits. I'm just wondering what the Legion does. Or is PT composed of primarily running.

    Thank you

Legs and lungs (running)all the way,you dont have to program it in its how the day starts,or was .I never saw any one swapping the little bit of free time they had to work out,in fact the small weight gym at calvi was used as a ring if 2 legs wanted an unstopped set to rather than pushing weights, eating, sleeping ,drinking and whoreing are far more important uses of any free time and should be taken the moment they become available, thats after youve got your kit in good order which you also do in your free time.your physical condition is taken care of by the Legion so you can concentrate on the above

The parcours du combat at Ouegh. Quel bon de souvenirs. The Escadron on the plateau above and the obstacle course all neat and tidy. We used it during the CME and one night had to run down to it in full kit, gather rocks in darkness and place rocks around the 400m running track, mix up lime, paint the rocks, do the parcours in full kit in the dark and then run back up the hill to Arta, someone lost some kit so we had to do compte rendus in the mess till 0600. At 0605 we had to march around singing "La Cailloux sur toutes les routes" and then go for a 12km in tenue sport. By this time hallucinations were kicking in after 48 hrs with no sleep and constant activity. There was still 24hrs to go. There was one eleve Caporal (an Italian )that missed most of this. At Ouegh he was unable to get out of the 3m hole and we left him there till about 12 hours later when some booboos heard his cries for help threw a branch down so he could climb out and walk back to Arta. Exercise sportif termine pret a recommence a votre plaisir a vos ordre!.
