    There were not a whole lot of changes made since my time. We had in addition a stretch with barbed wire to crawl under and three bars(poutres) in succession starting with about three feet in height to the last one eight feet in height. I assume that in basic training you have to do the parcours still with musette and rifle?

    All down to technique, every assault course the French have is roughly the same model even a little lad when shown how to do it correctly manages no probs. I have no idea why they call it table irlandaise ?

    The pile of stones below the first obstacle was NOWHERE NEAR as huge in the REC as the pile in the video! We raked the stones into a pile of MAYBE 50cm's tall before and during the obstacle course; the peloton jumping onto it one after another flattened it out quickly. The soft landing shown in the video and the ladder in the fosse....that WAS the PC in Calvi!
