Thanks Lads--I like to think of it as celebrating the 30th anniversary of my 30th birthday!! It has been almost 20 years since my Fin du Contract, yet it seems like yesterday. I remember my 40th birthday--was in Gabon, Operation Requin--went into town, Port Gentil, hit one of the bars run by an ex-pat--I said, "Give me a Scotch, neat. It's my 40th birthday." The bartender/owner poured me a tall one, then reached up and grabbed an unopened bottle, and gave that to me. "Bonne Anniversaire, Caporal." Had a hell of a night. Had to crawl back in through the hole in the fence at the back side of the compound at 0500 the next morn. As soon as my head hit the pillow, it was Reveille--Good times. I feel sorry for those that have never been a part of the Greatest Family of Brothers that is La Legion Etrangere.

Happy Birthday Tex...Thanks for all the advice and help you have given me and others over the years. Your story is quite inspiring. As Stoeng said, 60 is just another beginning.
