    de n721-Kepi Blanc p45 - Aidez-moi s'il vous plaît

    Je voudrais aider comprendre cet sentence:

    "Leur objectif était d'atteindre en moins de trois heures le sommet situé à 2 524 mètres d'altitude, après 1 100 mètres de dénivelée positive et sur une distance de quinze kilomètres."

    Je comprende le sommet est situé à 2 524 mètres, je comprende l'objectif est moins de trois heures, mais je ne comprende pas le 1 100 mètres ou le 15 kilomètres parties..

    They walked (I guess) 15 kms while ascending the mountain,and the difference in altitude between the starting point and the summit was 1100 metres.
    My french is a bit rusty,but I think the explenation is close eough
    Who needs 72 virgins? How about 72 slutty women who know what they are doing?

    Spiky is correct. "Dénivellée" in French is a difference in altitude. Positive means the starting point is lower than the finishing point (ie you have to climb) and vice versa for negative. This difference in altitude was spreading over a distance of 15 km. For the same "dénivellée", the shorter the distance, the harder it is to climb (otherwise said, the shorter the distance between two different points at different altitudes, the steeper the slope is). Hope this clarifies the whole stuff.
