The above links to an article discussing a military agreement between France and Yemen.

French military equipment is involved. Military exercises will involve French naval forces and special forces.

Way cool. I remember working with the bedouin tribes in the desert there, and going to the arms suq (market) on the outskirts of town and test-firing AK-47s with live ammo down the road...You could buy anything there from AKs to hand grenades to rocket launchers...but no FAMAS. Maybe that will change now!

it will probably be for the better. Yemen is quite the lawless area. A stabalizing factor i the region might help.

given that Djibouti is just across the Red Sea, I guess they already have a stabalizing factor. Ooops
