It brings out the history behind the legion. An understanding of what used to be...(I know its a movie, and that not all is what it seems, so shhh;))
I liked the ending, but I wonder if he ever got to see his beloved...

First shhh to your sister. I'm sure there are other ways for one to learn the history of the legion in a more pleasant way...

At long last I saw this movie, just now...
Ummm.... I'm going to go on a wild supposition here and I'm going to guess that this movie is at least 80% Hollywood BS?
Just within the first few minutes of the FFL being introduced you have CCP's manhandling their kepis by the tops, walking like civvies, Le Boudin sung an octave high and about double the speed...
Good entertainment though, enjoyed it.

I remember watching clips, presented by James Burke, of a new film that was going to be called Star Wars during the last moon landing, which was in 1972/73. way before JCvD was even in Breakdance.

if that piece of shizzle of a movie is somehow representative of the legion...
I think it would have been greater with chuck norris instead of jean cleaude van damme and his sissy side kicks :D

About the van Damme movie: did you noticed that he did not used his legs (to kick) during the fighting scenes?
