This isn't a steroid site. There are plenty of sites out there for that kind of thing if you are into that.

Thanks, it took me a while but I have had a few years here and so I finally figured out that Steroids are looked down upon here. Figure despite the fact it took me years to figure out cause I am not too bright, I might let you know right away as you seem like a sharp guy and I would hate for you to get in trouble for trying to start discussions about steroid use on Cervens. If you don't believe me the Mods will let you know pretty quick in their own fashion.
Now other guys who might be using can just PM you, so you guys don't have to post on an open forum dedicated to the Legion and risk getting banned.

If you use the search button and write "maxi muscle"...it's about proteins..etc.
And really..steroids "subject" is silly.
And next time it should be great not to speak ironic with someone or about something.

You know many in the Brits that use AAS do you?? I'm confident this is a slight exaggeration. Sure there may be isolated instances just like the abuse of conventional recreational drugs.
I've witnessed people taking all sorts of sports supplements (Which I think are all shit) but never once heard of (or witnessed) a guy taking AAS.
If caught you'll get thrown out as it WILL show up on a piss test and it is becoming more common to get tested every 6 months. (approx. They never tell you until the day they test).
Who ever is boasting about this to you is a bit silly... It could mean the end of their career.
PS The only cycle you should be on is of the two wheeled variety giving your legs and lungs a good work out! No responsible EMT want's to have to casevac some selfish little shit out of operations due to Kidney failure cause his body is too reliant on drugs!

no military in the world would randomly test for steroids, only reccy drugs. its far too expensive, however, if there was grounds for suspicion then maybe, but very unlikley

Sorry but you're talking shit. In the Brits if you're piss tested and something shows then the first thing they do is take a blood sample to give the board at your Court Martial concrete evidence that you've used drugs of some decription. AAS and recreational drugs will show up in your blood.
If caught you'll be thrown out. Plain and simple. It's not at all expensive as it involves a medic, a syringe and a hypodermic needle.
I'm sure some do take illegal or banned substances but they're isolated instances and are very much at risk of getting caught and dishonorably discharged from HM Forces.

From what I heard from a medical doctor steroid use is not uncommon in the military (not saying which but pretty much any) especially in more competitive units,
And I can assure you it is not looked down upon so seriously as soldiers are genrally known to abuse substances.
AAS are not as bad as you claim and unless orally ingested are unlikely to cause failure of any internal organs, othervise their only negative effect is on HPTA system that produces androgenic hormones.
SO if used not abused, and done with all the proper ancilliary drugs they are relatively safe and can give someone an edge.
To use them is a personal choice, however, I do not think that they put you and your squad mates in greater risk than alcohol or tobacco consumption and even coffeine.
As to sports supplements they do work, the case might be that a person who claims they do not work might be either one or few or all of the below mentioned issues:
a) not getting enough rest,
b) quality food,
c) not excersising enough or being overtrained.
I honestly belive that AAS use is rampant in militaries, there are pros and cons, yet, I do think that those drugs in limited amounts and used properly can have positive effects on soldiers' performance. The problem is if it is not properly handled and for example drugs are withdrawn cold turkey some detrimental effects to performance could occur, but did you know that marathon runners suffer similar HPTA shutdown from overtraining as AAS users from stopping their cycle abruptly.
Anyways piss test checks for recreational drugs to check for AAS you would have to check hormones, then if they are real or synthetic, for simple testosterone abundant in male body (so hard to veryfy not knowing the baseline of the subject) it is extremly hard to test.
I mean modern soldiers hould be looked upon as elite athletes and we know they use all sorts of stuff. I think that negative approach to steroids is the result of our view of bodybuilders who are overly bulky and some overweight kinds with no cardiovascular endurance using AAS and posing as bodybuilders.
In reality AAS are what you make of them it can be a useful tool in forging future soldiers, more aggressive, faster, stronger, even more flexible, plus their bulk could help spare thier limbs.
For example a famous bb Flex WHeel got into a car accident, the doctors said that if it was not for his muscles (he is also a martial artist and very fast flexible guy) he would be dead.
Just food for thought
I do not condone irresponsible use of AAS, nor do I use them, however used in moderation and in a smart way they have their legitimate use even as ergogenics.
I do belive that if we are negative about one type of drugs, why not ban talk of beer, tobacco form the forum, from what I know more people die horrible deaths caused by legal widely avaiable and culturally accepted products which is a complete bs.

Seeing as I'm British I'll gladly help you out marky_mark09. Are you in fact referring to me or to sugardaddy in your last thread? If it was me then you should perhaps check my profile here as it very clearly say's 7 Years British Army so I'd like to think I'm qualified to comment on this matter and don't feel I need to do any homework.
Yes you're right they initially test for recreational drugs and take a Urine sample which they do periodically and without notice. I'll repeat myself once again in case you failed to understand my last posting in this thread. If caught with drugs in that provided sample you are as a matter of course taken straight to the med centre where they then take a sample of blood.
The reason (as I've said) is to provide your Platoon commander, Company Commander and Commanding Officer with concrete evidence for what is normally a Court Martialiable offense. If things have gone this far there is a 90% chance that this will be the end of your day's in the Military. In this blood sample all illegal substances and trace (synthetic) compounds (including alien substances such as steroids etc) will be listed and given to the board to determine whether the case is strong enough to throw you out of the armed services.
My Yank arse is in fact British and I feel I've explained myself clearly enough. Sure I bet some guys take whatever they take and get away with it. It's possible.... Just like it's possible to get away with it in professional sports events. But as I said before If you get caught you are out on Your Arse.
I have no idea how the system works in The French Military or the US Military.

PW as you said they check for recreational drugs so medicine (which steroids are) will not show no matter what. They will have to check specifically for it which is not a standard procedure, so it would be much easier to be cought with vials, tabs of stuff than thru urine/blood sample.
The rason why is because AAS mimic naturally occuring compounds in the body DHT, Testosterone, Progesterone, Pheromones, etc., it would be much easier to detect doing regular bloodwork and checking blood lipids, then during a test for recreational drugs, which unless severe damage to internal organs have been caused will not show anything. Again this will only happen if someone is heavily abusing and that sort of person can be spotted from a mile away, anyways guys like that are not in the military anyways.
So if someone has the balls to hide syringes, needles and gear in his locker, or in his family's household, then he will not get cought by a drug test, rather reported on by a friendly individual;).
BTW marky mark09 nobody will tell you here if they are on, first FFL is IMHO (I have not been there but assume) not a very good place for roids, due to the nature of their deployments, training, etc.

Its alot like the same in the US except for the blood drawing part. Believe it or not in America there are very few entities that can force you to allow them to extract your blood and I dont think the US military is one of them. If you fail a piss test they test another sample from the same vile to make sure the positive is correct. After confirmation a classified message is sent to your commanding officer and the shit storm begins. First you will get called in to speak with the Master at Arms(cops) explaining all the little details of the results. Then your chain of command will inform you that will be going to captains mast. You WILL NOT get court martialed or dishonorably discharged from the US military for drug use. Now if you get caught selling drugs this is a different story and you will be charged accordingly. About two or three days after nofication of failure you will be sent to DRB(discliplinary review board) where all the NCO will chew your ass. There will be many there because believe it or not they get marks on their evaluation for participating in your demise. Then the day after that they will inform you that you will be sent to XOI(executive officers inquiry) where the xo will chew your ass for a bit and then tell your that your going to captains mast were the co will chew your ass for a bit more about all the same and hand down your punishment in the form of an administrative discharge with other than honorable conditions and 45 days restriction and 45 days extra duty while you wait to be processed out.

Oh and no they dont test for steriods unless your caught with pharaphanelia(neddles viles etc) or specifically accused of using steriods. And this is can be beat in court because in the US or atleast the Navys drug testing policy must be completely random. If you were individually targeted by the powers to be and not the computer that controls the program then the test will not hold up in a legal fight if you wished to dispute it.

Well there was one guy at selection, a canadian that was actually a former pro UFC fighter and built as a brick shithouse. He described himself as an machine and an athlete when talking about himself :)
He told them that he was on steroids and the answer he got back as he told me was that it wasn't a problem.. that everybody in the Legion was on steriods...
So no, steroids is not a problem I think if you do them responsibly. I imagine it would be counted as a negative but not an auto dissmissal.
Still he had been there for while and was done with all his testing and still had not made rouge. He had a really crappy attitude though so it might as well have been that.
I do not use them or intend to use them even if I need to get into shape ASAP. A personal choice like smoking ciggarettes.

similar to CB's post. a mate of mine in para reg tells me that he know lads who are on the juice. i have never seen any problems with steroids as they mentally give you an edge- they make you train harder and frun for longer. roid rage is a myth imo, i have ran a few test/deca cycles and have never had a rise in aggression.
its strange how steroids are but in the same category as reccy drugs. its honestly makes me sick!most roids users are dedicated to getting fit and building some muscle, as opposed to reccy drug users who are lazy, jumped up scum.
roids never hinder your performace, only improve it

the common sides people talk about are a myth, or at very least they can be avoided by usinging responsibly, ie- correct doeses, correct post cycle therapy, correct cycle times and correct time off!

You are not supposed to do illegal things. Until the laws change I won't use them and even then I would take a lot of time to study effects and such like. It is a caracther thing.

Guys, while I agree whole heartedly that people using steroids should NOT be going to prison or categorized in the same way as users of drugs like heroin, cocaine and so forth, the main point to remember is that this is a site for discussing the LEGION.
Until such a time as Steroids are classed as legal in some form or another we shouldn't be discussing them here.
I am not a mod so that is all I can do is make a suggestion. IF I were a mod I would have closed this thread ages ago. ;)

It's a stupid thread. I posted what I know RE: The Brits current policy. Despite what the MO at 4 Rifles told me recently about today's policy Marky_Mark09 seems to know better!! He is wrong... And he's talking a load of old Tosh as he's never served a single day in any military and has been posting in other military forums about the use of AAS being prevalent in HM forces. It's Bullshit!
They're as bad as recreational drugs as they can be responsible for wild mood swings, Kidney failure and Diabetes or even worse Leukaemia if abused for long time frames. They certainly get in the way of relationships and behavioral patterns. It's not natural and it's not normal.
You're just a total knob if you use them. If that makes me self opinionated then so be it. I am confident most here will agree with me.

This is more to do with morals, strenght of caracther and doing what you are told. Doesn't matter what is harmful, white sugar should be outlawed and probably is the greatest killer in the western world.
The Legion can not have people breaking the law.. it is part of the state that creates them. As a government employee you are under a greater scrutiny than as a normal employee.
