USMC MOS 8151 Marine Security Guard
1991-1993 Released due to the Marine Corps failure to meet Contractual Obligations in a timely matter. Honorable discharge.
Joined the US Army after 2 months out of the Corps. I loved the Corps and my brothers there but i wanted more and i knew that the Corps would not give it to me (as was promised to me). I miss my time there but I'm glad I got out when I did or i would have never ended up joining the Army and then the Legion. But my Brothers on the "TR" and the Nimitz will never be forgotten. Once a Marine always a Marine... until you join the Legion!

who me ? RM Left in late 81

Bootneck = RM Leatherneck = USMC
Its cos of the tight piece of leather worn around the neck in the 1700's which was common to all soldiers ( I think )

'Hard Charger'

USMC expression for marine who is brave under fire- Charging forward with fixed bayonet and great determination.

Jock your man at the old Guards depot who watched the footie match with you was Sgt. Lynden Tow. He who was scalped by the camp barber. What a monster.

He was the devil incarnate to most recruits in the Depot they hoped and prayed that they never went into close arrest. But Jock was right he was a racist, something that the Guards doesnt need. I never found it in the Legion either.

Never been a Marine, never been in the military.

But I respect the Marines so much. It'll be difficult to live with myself if I don't ever try out either for the Legion or the Marines.

Yes but you got to admit, wearing the "I rather be raped than airborne " t-shirt to a festivity with more than half a dozen, ex-para's present...it's quite brave. Or desperate?
