I have more pictures of "Legija" during his seven years in FFL, if someone could give me his e-mail so he can put these pics on the forum cause I don't have the knowledge :( . Hey what about a gallery or album section on the FFL Forum ? I think it's not a bad idea uploading and posting pictures of all aspects of the Legion.

Have very very vague memories of this element. The sgt on the photo is a damned good chap, finished as chef de section transmissions regimentaire.

well.....this guy one sick Mother F***. His Midlife crisis punk-coloured hair
He was very very naughty during his service as JSO (Jugoslav Special Operations). Some fear him and respect him some wish him buried alive.
He looks bad ass but his unit was only good killing innocent people and prime-ministers.They don`t have "The Balls" to face combat. They have proved themselfes during conflicts in the Ballkans. Just this guy doesent deserve the title "legionnaire"

What so you mean he does not deserve a title legionaire...He has been there and done it...what happened in the balkans is a different story....

You don't know s*** . It's not the "Jugoslav Spec Ops" but Special Operations Unit (Jedinica za Specijalne Operacije ) , and the guy was a Sergeant in the 2REP, and He did that in seven years. . . He was wounded couple of times ; and personally I like the pic there is a story about that pic and its a quiet a long one. . .

The JSO saved refugees, Albanian ones, don't talk lies here. You say the Balls? What kind of balls have those men who served with Legija in the line of Fire from the beggining of the Yugoslavian conflict (1991-2.)till Kosovo & Metohija in '99.

Oh did i hurt someone`s feelings i`m sorry
I just felt that way coz` this Guy`s unit was responsible of killing of 2583 civilians in my town Gjakove (Djakovica) including my brother, 2 sisters and my girfriend. Why they didn't go after the "Real Terrorists" (which i was a part of them) ? So much for "The Balls" that they have.
About the JSO helping Albanians the only help the got is "Ethnic Clensing"
killing, chased away from their homes, stolen their property (don't tell that the NATO did that whole World knows that).
Just simply i hate Serbs (don't blame me for that). Praise him he has served the Legion. A citate from Zeljko Raznatovic-Arkan speech
"Srpski narod kakva stoka ste vi" (Serbian nation what a cattle you are)
So yeah just i don`t wanna start a "Flame War" around here just the truth is as all we know it the bad guys have got what they have deserved and the rest of the world is happy.

Totally agree with Tiki, shave the ****er's nuts off. Served in Bosnia twice with Canadian military, have no sympathy for people like that. As for title of Legionnaire, he earned it at Castel as did the rest of you. Having said that, the Legion is not responsible for turning him into a wacko: he did that himself. Having made the rank of Sargeant in 7 years he must have had some semblance of professionalism inside of him. What turned him? Or was he like that when he joined the Legion?

Ex-sargent or not, legija is psycho bug eater who deserves alot worse then being behind bars.

Tiki OutMy heart goes out to you for all the suffering you experienced. I was in Banja Luka and Zvörnik in OSCE missions and saw some of the physical damage but few of the psychological scars on all sides. I wouldn't know where to begin to forgive if anyone did this to my family: I couldn't ever forget even if I managed - somehow - to forgive...

Well I served my year in the Serbian Army during the ’99 and spend some time in Djakovica , but mostly on the Serbian-Albanian border protecting my People and Holy Land Kosovo .Those 2600 killed civilians are fiction , they didn’t talk about them on CNN . Yes you’re right you’re the terrorist like the Chechen and the Al Qaida. People who live in the Western Europe know how kind of people you Albanians are with your drugs, prostitutes and other organized crime. And you’re probably writing from Germany or somethin’ . . .
Ethnic cleansing is done by Albanians since the 13th century, I don’t want to post some 5000 words post about that Ethnic cleansing.
Zeljko Raznatovic Arkan is a Hero ,and he never said that but I’m glad you heard of him.
You’re the cattle burningdown the Christian churches during March’03.
Gunner and eagle eye, Kosovo was nothing like Bosnia, it was guerilla war and the only devastations were made by NATO. I served in Kosovo till the end of war and after, I shoke hands with NATO soldiers at the end of the war , they didn’t found no mass graves I didn’t saw any.

“Turkish swords or NATO bombs the blood we shed was the same,
People my people arise once more our Sacred land reclaim!!!”

Absolutely not. Believe me, there were asses on ALL sides of that conflict, including, I'm ashamed to say, the UN and Canada. Meant no offence to Serbian people or to you. Rather, I was referring to Legija and how he'd gone off the deep end. I have zero respect for mass murderers, regardless of race, creed, color, or nationality.

Bonjour all,

I was a contractor in the former Yugoslavia for a year. I remember preparing for my assignment by reading up on the area. I recall the Dalmacija coastal area (Dalmatian coast in American English) was once French. One of my fondest memories was a visit to Pecs, Hungary. Pecs reminded me of New Zealand.

I read up on the history of the area and to date I must rely on what American broadcast journalist Edward R. Morrow said about the Vietnam War, as applicable to the former Yugoslavia:

"Anyone who isn't confused doesn't really understand the situation."

I never did get around to looking up where Kurt Weldheim, former UN boss and former Nazi officer in Yugoslavia, was stationed.

The one place I did not visit - but very much wanted to-was Trieste.

Saluations and Zbogom,
BobW

Another 'classic' topic on this board, that inevitably ends into bitter and endless bickering... the former Yugoslavia and the way people cheerfully slaughtered each other, in the middle of Europe in the late XXth century...
I'm afraid the various protagonists are not close to coming to terms with what happened down there... Please finish the debate (if you feel like it) in private. Broadband is a scarce and expensive resource.
