Hey Raider,
Welcome back...haven't seen you in a while.

This movie is One of my Favorites.
Shows it is the extremists on all sides that **** things up.
Cinematography was exceptional, writing, acting...all top notch in my book.

Although I have seen this movie long time ago I still remember the negative image of the Knights Templar created there. I have read many books about Templars and researched their history and it makes me mad to see that they are made the "bad guys" in this movie. As you may or may not know they were religious military order in holy land and fought against muslims until they were betrayed by french king who wanted their treasures and had the order destroyed and many members killed. They were like Legion in many aspects: a military force created by french in muslim lands, composed of people from many countrys, they were the first in the battle and last out of the battle. In my opinion it was the best that military force white/christian people have ever created. Its not only this movie but much of the television that gives them negative image, what is wrong because they fought for us who we live now.

what spoiled it for me was you knew he would die in the end :D

Didn't know till now that there was a New Director's Extended Cut. I guess it is supposed to make it into a much longer and better film with many more historical details, insights into relationships and even more fighting and gore. I think it is close to an hour and a half longer than the theatrical release.

Sounds pretty cool, wonder if anyone has seen it?
I want to try and pick it up on DVD if I can find it here in Korea. Might be a bit hard though.
