On the vain of the 'Friends Reunited sites I have started one up called

'Legion Reunited'

At present is is a basic 'leave details and search' page based on a forums, but as the site grows so will the options. I hope you will find this handy and pass the URL on to people and places that might use it

Many thanks

Hi there,

Before we all rush to register, can you identify yourself ?
There is already a useful FFL amicale online for former legionnaires with a photos and medals section. You can access it in the "Others" forum.

These are verifiable legionnaires who completed at least five years' service. In other words, what are your verification and authentication procedures of claimed FFL service ?

Otherwise, there are plenty of deserters and frauds on the internet boards...Surely, you can see the need for such procedures and dispositions. If not, you'll end up with a fair number of them registering with you...

Many thanks...

Well I am Ex Legion but that's not a matter here, its a contact site for others to use, who runs it is not that important in my eyes as long as it is run correctly,

I can't see any frauds asking to contact anyone as they would show up as such by others using the site, and IMHO why would a faker try and meet up with real legionnaires ? That would blow their sad imaginary life :)

It should be self controlling as its just for contacts and not really a chat forum, although there is a chat section.

But its up to people out there to use it if they want not for me to tell people what to do. I am always open to good ideas and helpful comments.

Thank you for replying to my post.

Go to 'Others' forum in a thread started by Voltiguer to access it.

Otherwise, you'd be surprised in what is found in the claims to completed FFL service on any such board....

Which regiment/company were you in, years of service and matricule - as a matter of glancing interest ? Mine:2eREI; 7e turned 3e Cie then BOI between 1981-1986; mle 16* 8**. You should state your Legion background like some former legionnaires in their profile on this board given that you're starting and coordinating a legionnaire register.

The problem with you having to be 'registered' to see the forums has now been fixed. You can now view all forums without registering.

Thank you
