i have never served in the foreign legion, but like most soldiers i am fascinated with the history of the legion and always eager to read about the experiences of the men who give up everything to be a part of this special organisation.
i am a former rifleman in 2nd batallion royal green jackets (mechanised infantry) where i did a couple of tours of the former yugoslavia and spent some time in the 'glass house' (the british forces prison in colchester).
i have been a civilian for five years now and i have decided to join the parachute regiment as a volunteer with 4 para.
ive never given the legion serious thought, but i have a close friend from paris so ill just learn a little french from him and see what happens . . .
be lucky.
