i'm making a new thread cause this doesn't fit in the after military training thread or whatever it was.

when to do cardio? when to lift? which one first?

reaslly do what works and what you can keep consistent in your lifestyle and daily schedule. just don't miss training! eat what you like. just don't miss training!! consistency will buy you the most in your training plan.

personally:

i either do a 1.road ride greater or equal to 40Km then weights, or 2. a run no less than 10Km and a swim no less than 1.2Km then weights. on e or the other, they just alternate.

all are done in the morning

all are done back to back with very little transition time, no more than 30 minutes

all are done on an empty stomach with the exception of a coffe and pastry before the lifting at times.

i can lift first or do the endurance first. each just means pre-exhausting something elst before you start. i think it's good to changfe it up. keeps your muscle fibers confused and out of patternistic behavior. keep your body adapting. if i wanna work on long distance swimming in an exhausted state, then i'll lift first my back and whatever the secondary body part de jour i feel like (i do a 4 day split lifting routine). my back gets pre-exhuasted and then must last through 2Km of swimming. if you are not familiar, your lats should be providing the majority of the muscular power in your crawl stroke.

training with this kind of timing was a little hairy at first, but you get used to it. i like to eat, it also allows me to eat anything whenever and never have it affect me.

have fun training!
