Out in England at the moment, account of one man's 5 years with the FFL. Tony Sloane writes about his journey from directionless youth to hard bitten Legionaire with 2em Rep. His writing style is direct and to the point, this kept me engaged throughout. I was very interested in the imfamous beasting/training/singing/Marching and family ethos that is the FFL, not to mention the drinking/shagging/fighting that goes on 'after hours'.
I am sure that many ex-Legionaires will be familiar with most of the experiences Sloane writes about, and may even find them boring. I would recomend this book to anyone who has an interest in the FFL, and even more so to people who know nothing about the FFL (although they would be unlikely to be reading this review!)
Sloane went on to serve with the British army, and later with the special forces. He is now a consultant, and one time author.
