I just saw The Transporter last week. I really liked Jason Statham in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and the Italian Job, so seeing the Transporter seemed like a logical step.

My thoughts on the film:

-some awesome, awesome driving scenes. made me jealous--when will I ever get the chance to drive like that? could I even do it?

-decent fight scenes. when he goes to the mobster's house and kicks the door down, awesome. but when he is in the garage and spills the oil all over the floor, just sort of silly.

-three rules...very cool

-south of france...very cool

-the plot=far from the world's best. even for an action film, it was a weak plot

Overall, I enjoyed the film although not enough to watch it again. I do plan on watching The Transporter 2 when I get a chance, though.

YES, quite a good film,

Driving scenes at beginning are in Nice (South of France).

The house with nice views is in Cassis (South of France).
The house does not exist and only the front of it was made, it is actaully a tennis courts and a swimming pool that are there.

The Oil scenes were filmed in the Marseille bus station RTM (Which is no where near water, so it would of been impossible to jump out window into water)...

I have watched it alot.

The second film though is not as good too much american for me ;)

That is so disappointing! That house was gorgeous. I loved how it had the underwater entrance/exit in the basement...very awesome.

Any thoughts on the female co-star? Hot or not? I'll say that she grew on me, at first I said definitely not, but by the end I found her attractive.

I am uncertain how to feel about the second film:

BETTER
1. The villain was more evil
2. The villain's girlfriend was hot
3. So was the kid's mom
4. As far as American cities go, Miami was about the only one where "The Transporter" franchise could have worked

WORSE
1. The French policeman was not featured enough in this film; a very funny character largely went to waste
2. Setting the film in America was a mistake
3. The villain was inexplicably Italian...his accent didn't sound Italian to me
4. The ending was a bit too unresolved

All in all, though, I enjoyed the second film and I can only hope they make a "Transporter 3" that returns to Europe, hopefully somewhere super cool like Moscow or Rome.
