The 1966 version of Beau Geste was broadcast on UK TV mid week, i really enjoyed the movie, Telly Savalas played the part of Sergeant Major Dagineau well and Leslie Nielsen put in a good performance as Lieutenant De Ruse, shame he will be remembered for Airplane and Naked gun etc he is actually rather good as a straight actor, Forbidden Planet is another good movie of Nielsen's will have to find a copy of that for a rainy sunday.

yes brother it was on channel 5 i saw it was simply a classic and very well executed. i am gonna check out the original 1930 version.

just finished watching the 1939 version of this film on film 4 i dont get it did the two brothers desert in the end if so whats the big deal with this film just glorifyng deserters?
